Now that I found a M16A1 I am looking for a good source for 9mm parts. I have been looking for suppliers but have come up dry. Any help is appreciated.

If you have pics of your M16/9mm all decked out that you could post, that would be great also. A description or list of parts for your set up would also work.

TIA,
David

David, I bought a post-sample Colt 635 SMG minus the stripped lower, and just moved everything onto my M16A1 lower.

I use a Crossfire mag block, no longer in production. Mine is blessed, and never falls out during a mag change.

In the photo I have Colt SS hammer and trigger pins, but I have since switched to KNS locking pins. I also had the 9mm bolt ramped by Lee Minor at LRM.

The mags are factory Colt 32s and MMAG converted 72-round Suomi drums. I still swear by the Colts -- I like the way they lock the bolt open after the last shot, and they have come back down in price to $65 or so. Since Beta now has a 9mm drum out, I'd try one of those today before going to Suomis.

Second rig is an LRM M169 with an EOTech holosight. The M169 is the cat's meow -- smooth, accurate and very, very quiet. It feeds any 9mm I have tried. With the ported barrel, most 115-grain ammo comes out at around 1,030 fps, almost 100 fps faster than 115-gr out of a factory MP5SD. About as fast as you can get and still stay subsonic.

I've got an LRM M169 too and its great.. I haven't gotten around to doing a write up about it.
Below is a pic of my 3 lug setup.
You can read all the details on my website below. Just click on M16 configurations then 9mm upper.

Group Industries M16 stainless steel receiver with Rock River Arms upper. Mag block is made by VM-Hytech and the suppressor is the AWC MK9. For more pics, info, and a video, click HERE (http://home.netcom.com/~uzisubgun/id4.html)

They way I see it you have a couple of choices which have already been brought up and both seem like good ideas.

Sell all 3 and ger a M-16 or sell the Mac's and get a FN-FNC.

If you've got the hot's for M-16 nothing going to cool you down untill you have a M-16. I've got a modest collection and I can tell you the M-16 is my favorite.

Now that I know what all gear to look for. Where do I buy it at. I want to order the following.

VM Hy-Tech magwell adapter
ASA 10.5” 9mm upper
LRM ramped bolt

I am not much of a gunsmith so I would like to buy a complete ready to mount upper. Also do I need to change any of the fire control parts in my M16A1?

Check out JoeBlack's website... He does the bolt ramping, and has details on M16 hammer modification, etc.

LRM is Lee Minor, LRM Firearms (http://www.lrmfirearms.com/pages/507919/index.htm) Normally, you send him your bolt and he ramps it, but since he also manufactures integrally suppressed 9mm uppers he may have a spare bolt in stock.

As far as fire control parts, you do not need to make any changes on an M16. (Semi ARs require mods, but full-auto FC system works for all calibers.)

I would strongly suggest you change the hammer and trigger pins to either SS or locking pins. Colt uses SS pins in all 9mm lowers, because the standard pins will break when you use a 9mm upper, resulting in egged-out pin holes in your registered lower.

I went to Colt SS pins initially but now use KNS locking pins -- they are even better at reducing the risk of damage to your lower. Plus, they only cost $32 retail, which is cheap insurance. KNS Precision (http://www.kagerind.com/Kager_Static_Home/S-gun_sights/s-gun_sights.htm) or available through Brownell's and other internet/mail-order sources.

Not to sure if I got a good deal or not but its all I could find.

((LIKE NEW))Colt "type" AR15/M16 Upper, 10in barrel.
With:

1) AAC Rate Reducer Buffer Assembly.
2) Spare "COLT BOLT" complete.
3) Bolt Parts Kit.
4) 32rd Colt mag.
5) Colt NEW TYPE Mag Block with bolt hold open.
6) Uzi Mag Clip.
7) Mag Loader

WTS COLT TYPE 9MM UPPER KIT/ $780. (PIC) (http://www.sturmgewehr.com/webBBS/parts.cgi?read=130788)

I still need to pick up a few Colt 9mm mags, KNS anti-walk/rotate pins, and a 9mm hammer. My wife tells me that my two RRA complete lower receivers finally came in so I will register one of them as a SBR in 9mm

Lookin' good! :D

Just remember that you don't need a different hammer for using a 9mm upper on the M16 lower -- only semis use a different hammer for 9mm, so your SBR will need one.

no pics
but on the other hand i have an ea rr receiver with oly 9mm upper that runs fine with aac csmkII buffer/10.5" bbl/6 pos colt stock and modded or plain sten mag blocks

stens not hard to load with ring type loader but take more time than colt/uzi ones

but they are cheaper

same gun you saw at camden treedawg
