Anyone have any experience with one of these American made SW 76 folder carbines that SOG has on their website. Certainly the price is right. If it is like a Cobray to an Uzi I will move on. I have a semi Uzi and of course love it, but, if I could pick up a semi 9mm for half the price why not. Opinions please, Thanks, Bud

I believe cookie has one. He should be by to give you his opinion before long. They look good to me, but I've never shot one.

BTW, it doesn't hold a candle to the UZI, but for the price it's a nice carbine, the folder doesn't fold, it must be modified. Mags are cheap at Centerfire Systems. Do a search and you will find out more info. Thanks for joining UziTalk. :D

I bought one from Wade Bailey of Top-Notch Accessories (http://www.top-notchparts.com/). It looks great but had some issues. I had to return the trigger group and barrels and am hoping to receive the replacements soon.

Wade is Todd's brother. It is a Special Weapons SW-760.

Thanks for the replies guys. A couple more more questions-are they safe? Do they have closed or open bolts? Are they at all accurate? Thanks again. Bud

All currently-produced semis have to be closed bolt per ATF. Accuracy seems OK for what it is, but it had a few othr issues that I'm sure wil be corrected promptly. It actually looks very nice, but is extremely heavy for a 9mm.

Can you get mags that have a 20 round or lower capacity for this rifle? I live in the communist stae of MD and they only allow a 20 round max?

I'm unsure of the laws in MD, I thought you guys could buy out of state, not shipped but if you were to go to a gun show in PA and buy Hicaps and bring them back it would be OK. You can own hicaps but can't sell them. If I am mistaken, maybe you can have somebody cut down some Suomi mags to 20.

If you are limited to 20rd mags in your "commie state", what about buying the 36rd standard Suomi mags and puting a wooden dowel (diameter that will fit inside the mag spring) in the mags that will limit their capacity to 20rds....???

The trouble I would have is finding some dealer in PA say that sells these mags. I can not have them shipped from a wholesaler.

Harrisburg gun show is coming up in May I believe, you would have no problem finding Suomi mags there.
