I know I read a thread on .22 bullets getting bent and causing failures to feed. It was only in the past few weeks or months. There were a number of good suggestions that I thought I would try with my new .22 conversion kit.

Hate to bother you all, but maybe one of you remember the thread and can point me to it or know how to use the search function better than I.

The thread even had photos of the bent bullets.

Thanks.

Here is a thread that I started a couple of months ago. The things that made mine run near 100%:

The polishing suggestion
The Wally World Winchester Dynapoints
Using the 9mm SMG recoil spring instead of the .22 spring

Good luck

There is a Rex (from Vector) video in the Las Vegas Shoot thread that shows you how to file the ejector. According to Rex, many "bent bullets" are the result of the top round in the magazine being pushed out of place by the ejector.

In short:
1. remove the cover, barrel, etc.
2. place a round or two in a mag
3. insert mag in mag well (fully)
4. if the bullet touches the ejector, then file the underside of the ejector until it just barely does not touch.

You may want to do this for all of your 22-cal mags.

This should help with feed problems, but is not a cure all, barrel ramp polishing may be necessary.

I think all the mags should be set up the same... Remember you are touching up the 9mm ejector... And keep it true with the mag well... The point filed straight up and down...

Now that I got my Ciener kit pretty much worked out I might play agian with the Uzi kit....
