I see that Blackjack buffers has a 1.4" buffer for the UZI, is this a better buffer than the one that comes with the gun?(Norinco 320) Will the BJB buffer increase the rate of fire with no side effects in the semi?

The buffers in a semi really serves no purpose but to hold the spring for the stiker assembly. and op rod.
Your finger controlles the ROF in a semi. :D

So the bolt never rebounds off of the buffer? I was under the impression that the bolt bounced off the buffer.

The buffer take the shock from the op rod.
The bolt does not touch the buffer

Thanks for the info, CDNN has these for 4.99 new. What kind of grease/oil do you use on your UZI?

Use a combination of Militec and Hoppes oil.

Shouldnt a semi already have a buffer in it? Wont it work with out one?

Nope , a semi will need it to hold the striker assembly spring.

So what would happen if I took my semi buffer out of my carbine, and chopped it in half, would it cycle slower?

You may have lite primer striks as the Firing pin spring will not get its full momentum to the striker. or it will make no differance.
Give it a range trail as that is my 2 most logical Hypotosis
But the main purpose is still to hold the springs.
I'm using a FA recoil op. rod that I cut to fit around the FA bolt block.
NO BUFFER @ all .
I'm also using a converted FA to Semi auto bolt in 40S&W/10mm/9mm
SO the FA recoil spring works fine.
the stiker spring rides in the factory notch
of the FA op rod spring.
agiain no buffer .
Bolt was converted by BarrelXchange
Everything in the Gun started life from a FA kit. accept
Striker assembly
