I have a SA UZI Carbine, and am thinking about the Micro UZI, what is the biggest difference between them, and why is the Micro UZI so much more expensive?

Thank you,

my guess they made and imported less pistol's.somebody had posted something like 80,000 uzi 's imported of all carbine semi's type a type b and mini's...i am not sure those figure's counted pistol {micro's}i finally bought another after 20 year's myself.....{talk about a long withdrawl}

if they imported 10,000 i would think.that is not alot for the u.s.a.

and movie industry, dealer's, collector's,police, security some military, shooter's.ratholer's...private industry seem's to have grabbed most of them all up..and how many went out of country or across border???ummm!

so my advice get one....and the big dif.size!!they take all the same mag's... take care, ron

I'm a little confused by your question. A Micro UZI is a full auto, pistol sized UZI with a folding stock. Transferrables go for $8000-$10,000. Why are you comparing that to a semi-auto UZI Carbine?

Did you mean to compare it to a semi-auto Mini UZI or an UZI Pistol? An original semi-auto carbine and an IMI UZI Pistol are both around the same price - about $1000.

Get em Dave.... Get em;)

If you want to see all the differences in the models check the library... it lists all the differences....

BTW the Uzi pistol made into full auto with a stock is considered a Micro Uzi... The pistol is a pistol without the stock.... If it had a stock it would need a really long barrel similair to the semi Mini Uzi to comply with the law....

Sorry for the confusion, I ment "Mini" UZI, not Micro.

Vector makes a "Mini" Uzi, and I was just curious, why they are more expensive and what the difference is?

Thanks, and again sorry for the confusion.

Mainly the Mini Uzi has a few special parts. The stock cost considerable more . as well as the top cover, forward grip, grip lug, stiker assembly and extra labour. . The cheapest MINI styled Uzi from Vector is $800 for the Mini Pistol without stock.

The mini without the stock is considered a pistol... So you cannot put a stock on it without a long barrrel or converting it to a SBR... (short barreled rifle)

The mini parts are a lot harder to find...

Difference? Basically it is a little smaller and lighter...

In fact, Vector is now making the MINI stocks since their IMI source has dried up. I spoke to Rex about this at the UZItalk shoot. For the buttplate, they are using the full size UZI wooden stock plate and modifying them for the MINI. The wire is fabricated by them as well as the mounting "lug". They did a pretty good job replicating it though.
Rex told me that you can tell if its not an original by looking at the backplate. The full size UZI's wooden buttplate has the sling swivel there and is a raised rounded surface. The edge of the rounded sling mount is still seen on their "new" mini stocks.

Amphibian... Don't know if Rex told you... He said they have some micro stocks... But they have the mini buttplate on them... He showed me one and wondered if it would make a difference to me... If you looked at them side by side they were quite different... The mini stock is about twice as wide as the Micro. I think he said they got them in that way....

Sounds interesting. Note surprsing. The Israeli special forces website had some pics of some Israeli's w/ MICRO's w/ MINI stocks on them so putting a MINI buttplate on a MICRO length stock sounds like something they would do.
Thanks for the interesting good info!!
