Greetings, I am new to Uzi Talk and to the Uzi in general.
I have a lot more experience with the AR15/M16 and the AK rifles, but have been reading up on the Uzi and looking to get one.
Any feedback on the Vector Uzi Carbines? I have read that they had problems with weak springs and other issues. I don't know if these issue have been rectified or not.
If anyone has any advice, or feedback about Vector's Uzis, please advise.
Cheers,
Carl

Carl, welcome to the group.
Generally speaking, the semi-auto Vector UZI is a great gun and a great value. They have had a rash of problems lately. Largely it seems to be due to running out of original IMI spec parts and replacing them with US made parts that were not fully to spec. The good news is that Vector has top notch customer service and if you do have a problem they will get it resolved quickly.

Vector is an excellent company and I feel horrible that they had the problems they've been having. On a bright note, even if you get a bad Vector, they will make it right and you'll be paying about 1/2 of what a used IMI/AA gun costs. The company is totally customer-oriented and goes the extra mile to make up for what a couple idiots in the shop messed up (I assume).
Their AK's are nice, too, since you mentioned you're an AK guy. I picked up an underfolder built on a Polish parts kit that looks great and shoots even better. I was used to MAK-90's, NHM-91's, and Romanian SAR's before the Vector. Needless to say, this one won't be sold. It shot almost to POA out of the box. A few twists of a TAPCO sight tool dialed it right in. I'm actually amazed at the accuracy (as I am of the Uzi, too). The other AK's above couldn't compete.

These guys are right about Vector and their UZI's. I've got a mini and a fullsize and love both of them. The full size had a recoil spring problem but Vector sent a new one right away. The gun runs great now. Very accurate and will eat most any ammo. Vector's customer service is outstanding. You can't go wrong buying one of their guns.

Thanks for the feedback gents!!
That is good to hear about Vector's service.... I am in manufacturing, so I know first hand that shit happens. The most important thing is to take care of the customer and learn your lessons so the problem doesn't repeat itself.
I never considered one of Vectors AK's before. I have a Romak (SAR 1) that is a great shooter (reasonably accurate), except for the occasional trigger slap problem. It needs a better trigger assy.
I will probably get rid of the SAR, because I have a beautiful Chinese AKM/47S, under folder with threaded barrell, slanted break and bayonett. I might replace the SAR with the Vector full size Uzi, but want a Vepr also. :D
The wish list just keeps growing.....

Carl, I picked up one of the early (post-ban) Vector AKs and couldn't be more pleased with it. It was inexpensive and well constructed, and has never given me a problem.
