After almost 5 years my SAKO project is finally completed. It began it's life as a RR M62 Valmet. I had at least 5 of the well known AK gunsmiths turn this project down, saying that it was not feasible. Troy Sellars @ IN RANGE told me that he would like the challenge. Major work had to be done to the lower portion of the reciever to match that angle. The left side of the receiver had the the scope attachment areas milled out, and holes drilled and threaded. The color was computer matched and the markings were completed at Lauer Custom Weaponry. I am very pleased with the finished product.

Is that the RR Valmet I've seen previously displayed at some of the gunshows at the BJCC?

If so, it looked good in its old configuration, and it looks good now too.

I've always liked Valmets.

WOW! You need to display that at the upcoming gunshow at the BJCC in October.
