Hello all new to the forms, and my question is other than the kit and receiver, what other parts do i need to build a galil, do you have to use a new barrel that's not been drilled for the gasblock, or can i use a decent barrel that has the gasblock already pressed on, also does anyone know of a builder that does good work at a decent price. :patriot :marines

I will try to answer your question.
The other parts needed really depends upon how complete is your parts set. Can you post a picture?
Most builders will tell you that it is best to start out with a new barrel- it's much easier for them. To use a barrel assembly like you mention requires a very experienced gunsmith. I recommend that you go to Arizona Response System's website and read the info which has been posted there. The URL is:

Here is an excerpt of the text:

The relationship between the barrel and receiver face (timing), the bolt to the locking shoulder and barrel face (headspace) are significant and require some degree of experience and skill to work around. The ejector has me concerned. I discussed annealing and tempering the ejector on one receiver.

Hope this helps.

RE: After a week the cherry Valmet M-76 in 223 cal. arrived today and it is like the guy descibed, it has been fired a few times but there is not 1 scratch on the gun anywhere. the only thing I need is more mags. I got 1 factory 30rd clip with it. I would like to get 3,4 more for the gun if anyone has a lead on where to get them. there used to be a place called Tromix, I beleive that had them and converted some mags that would work. I thought a guy had said that they went out of business, I don;t recall where they were located at. If anyone has any info I would appreciate it.
