I recently bought a spare bolt , firing pin and spring. I got to looking, and the firing pin spring that I just received is about an 1 1/4" longer than the "original ?" spring that came with my FNC. Are there 2 lengths/versions of firing pin springs. The longer spring looks to be more correct, but I really don't know for sure. I also forgot to measure them for exact length, so I don't know those measurements at the present time.

Well, I measured the springs last night and also noticed something else. My spare bolt is evidently the old style bolt. The extractor is held in by a pin and then that pin is held in by a roll pin. The spring that came with this bolt is approx. 3 3/4" long.

My original bolt that came with the gun has one double roll pin holding the extractor in. The spring that came with this bolt is approx. 2 1/4" long.

I like the longer spring better as it obviously has more power. I don't know if it really matters though.
