Telescoping rifle grenade made for the FNC. It is a modern "shoot-thru" design for use with ball ammo. (The gas is shut off so you don't over stress the rifle with the excess recoil from grenade launching)

Are there any more of these where you found this one? That is really :cool especially with FNC 5.56 on the sight leaf.

Thanks. They are still used in Europe. This one came out of Belgium. I am trying to track down a good source for more. Grenade collectors may have one or two. This is the third I have owned, the first with the FNC marking on the sight.

Do you have a good source for parts out of Europe?

I have a couple friends in the Netherlands that are real good about getting British, Swiss and Belgin ordnance, mags and parts. I will push them a little harder for more Tel-grenades.

What are the markings on the shaft of the grenade?

The grenade was produced for countries using a 5.56 assault rifle. The shaft markings are for indirect fire (butt on ground and rifle at a 45 degree angle. The distance is determined by how far you place the grenade on the flash hider. M16 series rifles don't lend themselves very well to grenade launching as they have no gas shutoff. This subjects the rifle to excessive recoil and opens the action prematurely.

300 meters may seem like a long way to launch a grenade, however last weekend I lost an Israeli grenade launched from an 8mm Mauser at a 45 degree angle. We couldn't find it. Best guess was over 500 yards.

You would really hate to detroy the paint on them because they look so nice, but painted orange would be easier to find... On the other hand if someone found one somewhere in a field or woods... I think there would be a little stir in the community.
