Are the barrel compensator cuts supposed to be on the top dead center of the barrel or off to the right of the barrel? I just got my Vector mini Uzi and never really looked at the barrels before. The compensator cuts on my are on the top right, versus being in the center top of the barrel. The barrel is on correctly so I just wanted to check. Thanks
Since 99.9% of people firing full auto tend to go up and to the right, if I was going to have compensator cuts on a barrel that's where I would put them. Didn't you buy one of Troy's Micro barrels? That where the cuts are located, not top center.

No I didn't buy one of his micro barrels because I want to find a factory one which is chrome lined. If Troy was able to chrome line them, I would have bought one. The cuts being off to the right make sense, but from the pictures I had seen they all looked to be top centered.

I talked to Troy (BarrelXchange) the cuts are top to the right... The deal is most shooters are right handed so the gun pulls to the right... Troy said he has done a special order for a South paw (lefty) to put the cuts on the top left so it keeps the gun on target. Most of the pics are unclear as to the exact porting. but they are to the right..
The Mini is ported to the right also... But the above was about the Micro barrels

Yes, the Mini and Micro barrels are ported at the 1:00 or 2:00 position (looking from the chamber end of the barrel.) I believe the tendency of the gun to go up and to the right is due to the barrel twist, not a right vs. left hand shooter.

That is correct, from all the training and information I've had for years... Barrel twist and bolt reciprocation have the most influence over muzzle rise.

The porting cuts are at an approx. 60 degree angle from horizontal with a 20 degree forward cant. Thats what the factory barrel I have shows. But I can cut them how ever you want,
I personally like the cuts on the top with a 20 degree forward cant to keep muzzle rise down.
The theory of the 60 degree angle is to push the gun into your left hand when firing for control, there is some debate as to the effectiveness of it.
