I've got a couple grand burning a hole in my pocket and I'm not finding any decent Galil .308's around. I've been seeing between $4000 and $5000 for the few that I've come across. Certainly noone is paying that for these. Give me directions to the deals!

Here you go-

The 4 mags are worth close to $500 so you would be getting the gun for 2K.

Note: Not mine and I have no connection to seller.

i dont like the neutered 329's .. no bayo etc ..

i have been on the market for a 323 for a few weeks now .. ill prolly get one with help from my tax return in march if i can find a nice deal .. but if i come across one sooner ill have to charge it ..

there were 2 on gunbroker over the last couple weeks .. i missed one because i thought it ended several days after it did .. i was pissed as the galil was a good price in superb condition .. and another i didnt jump on as i didnt like the out of focus pictures provided with it on the auction .. it seemed like the pics were hiding flaws ..

if i can find a 323 ( .308 folder with wood forearm) for nice price in excellent + condition .. im all over it ..

Thanks for the links. The first GA rifle is SPF apparently and the guy was kind of a JERK about it when I e-mailed him. I have been eyeballing nthe 329 for 2K, but I'm thinking that an ARM would be a little more cool. :)

Look the following is my opinion only so nobody get your pants in a wad.

I have owned both the AR and the ARM in .308. The only difference is that the ARM is VERY front heavy. unless you think you will be doing most of your shooting from the bipod, you might need to reconsider.

second bone.

Have you noticed that the only Galil's avaliable around now are .308's?

I think it is because everyone who has the .223s (including me with my AR AA386 and my AR MR361 ain't about to sell because these are the best .223 AKs ever built. I like my 5 different ARs just fine but I can TRUST my Galils

I sold both my AR and ARM .308 just because I could not shoot them nearly as well as my FAL or my M1A. IMNSHO the M1A is the finest .308 Battle Rifle every fielded. The combonation of the sights and the action make it a rifle I can trust and hit with out to 500 yards. The FAL is dependable and I would never sell it BUT as the old saying goes if TSHF I would select my Galil .223 my M1A .308 or my Valmet 62S 7.62x39. My list of the best of the best.

I really like my FNC too but parts are a real problem.

I have an affection for .308's and was wanting to add another one to the few that I already have. I have had offers for $5000 for a NIB ARM, but I'm not in search of a safe queen and I will do what I can to try to wear it out. I've had no luck doing that with these thus far. :D

That , my friend is entirely different, You will find that it shoots just like that Valmet 76. I can not tell them apart, in the way they shoot I mean. Very, Very, nice .308 collection you have there. Good luck on your search and I wsill keep this thread and drop you a line on any Real goodens that I see.

i as well have found a fondness for 308 .. i only have a bolt gun sporterized mauser in 308, and my fal in 308 so far .. i need a galil and hk91/51 some day .. then ill be set ..

i shot an m1a a few weeks ago for the 1st time .. reliable but the recoil was way more than my dsa sa58 carbine ..

i want an hk91 because i recently purchased an hk94 and if the 91's are built anything like the 94's, i definately want one ..

ill never be using the bayo lug on the arm galils .. i SHOULD just buy an AR like all the black ones on gunbroker but im die hard right now . i may give later on down the road but right now i want an ARM pretty bad ..
only time will tell.:heavy

My HK is actually a CETME that I transformed after the AWB sunset. It needed some polishing to get it to function 100% and it shoots as well as it looks now. I probably have about $700 into it with the cost of the rifle included. It also uses unmodified G3 mags that are cheap and plentiful. :D Definitely as keeper.

And thanks for the compliments jmikesteen. :cool

I already checked that one also. It was a little too spendy 5K for what I want. Thanks!

I found this one (http://www.sturmgewehr.com/webBBS/semi4sale.cgi?read=122319) if there are any takers. I am also working out a deal on a HADAR II with the necessary pieces to convert it to an ARM. :D

Does not do justice to the offer so I will in thumb nail describe the 308 in question

Transistion Galil from Magnum Research, MR serial Number, imported by AAL.

Bayonet lug, etc

All furniture for AR

All furniture for ARM

Two folding stocks, one with rubber butt plate, the other for the 223 model (this one is shorter which I like)

3 25 round magazines

All furniture received NEW from importer/supplier IMI.

Basically two complete rifles, shooting rifles, with a buffer, I doubt it would be shot out in one life time

All for $5,000

I bet if you put all that info in the ad, you'd get a better response.

My sentiments exactly. One rifle with two sets of furniture and three 25's for $3000 to $3500 would sound even more viable, but I'm not well versed on "global internet rates" for merch these days.

I have one on it's way for $1800. It's a HADAR II that needs converted with all of the conversion pieces to make an ARM with a Galil 25-rd mag. Looks like I'm getting my non-safe queen Galil blaster for a few hundred less than what I wanted to shell out. I'll get some pics when the conversion is complete and during an intermission when I'm shooting the hell out of it. :D

Could it be that is exactly what you ARE?

The point of my post was merely to correct, what I thought might be, well a surly point of view, by expanding the thread to include more detail.

Yes you got a HADAR with used parts, and it will always be a HADAR or frankengalil, but it will NEVER be and never have the Galil moniker nor the Galil VALUE.

Melt away with your frankengalil, Surly!
