The reference section lists 3 versions of the 40 rd mags.
The ratings vary.
From:
Excellent
to
fairly good but sometimes the top of the mag is too wide and will not go into the gun easily.
to
Untested.
Does anyone know which version Vector is offering right now or how they function?
Thanks

I bought one of the Vector 40's and got another from VegasSMG. Both work 100% in my gun.

Vectors are the converted South American 40 rounders. I went thru several to find one that functioned correctly in my gun, but my experience seems to run counter to what others have experienced. Those big mags look great hanging out of the mag well of an Uzi!

By converted do you mean the cut for use in an AR-15?

They have the mag catch slot cut into them for the Uzi, not sure what they fit originally. The mag stop bumps do not match/line up to the bottom of the mag well.
VegasSMG knows somebody that does the M16 mod so they will work in both.

I guess I will stay with the IMI & FN mags until someone has the South African 40's.
Thanks for the input.

as they could never achieve the desired reliability with the extra capacity. Unless you're shooting a Micro from an undercover holster... the 20rd mags are useless. The 25s go way too fast & the 32s seem to be the best compromise.... achieving both objectives of overall size/capacity & reliability.
I bought 5 of them from Vector a while back. I was waiting for my gun, so I could not test them. In the meantime, I bought a parts kit and noticed that 2 did not fit in the well (the other 3 fit perfectly). I called Vector up and they took them back no questions asked (I didn't have a receipt at that point) and sent me 2 working ones.
I still don't have a gun, so I have no idea how they function. Maybe some day .....

I bought a half-dozen of the 40-rounders from Vector. All have performed flawlessly. Actually, until this thread appeared I had heard nothing but praise for them!
They fit perfectly in a standard M3 Greasegun magpouch too :)

I've been looking everywhere for those, where did you find them?

I found mine through a WTB ad that I placed at Sturmgewehr.com if I remember correctly. They are cheap too. I think I paid $8 for mine.
