I have had 2 Vepr K rifles. I had the .223 and still own the 7.62 x 39 model. I like them alot, I hate wood anything on a gun so I actually like the black plastic furniture...it is solid as a rock. The gun is a little front heavy due to the heavy barrel, but that's no big deal. It functions perfectly....I have used varies steel mags and Bulgy Waffles...no problems. It shoots to point of aim and seems to be quite accurate......I can hit what I want at 20-50 yards...that's all I've done with it. I have put around 700 rounds of different russian ammo and it likes it all. The reason I sold the .223 model is because it only functioned 100% when using Robinson Armament factory modified mags....I wasn't a big fan of spray painted plastic mags, so that kinda turned me away...not a valid reason...but I really liked the 7.62 version better anyway.
I'd buy it again.
Hope this helps.

Thanks for the advice.I might buy a sam-7 not sure yet.
I've got one, It's the most accurate Ak i've every owned. Had 7 of em.Beats the milled bulgarians in accuracy so should shoot better than a SAM 7. Very front heavy doesn't handle as nice as a regular ak. Mine does 2" at 100 yards with open sights using cheap yugo ammo. Only 1 jam in 1200 rounds. And this thing bumps like hell. I don't think you can do with the comped model though not enough recoil.
