Howdy guys. I'm new to this forum, and I must say I'm very impressed. I've had a few UZIs since the early 80s, but the only one I have kept is a 12xxx A Model that just won't quit! I'm looking for a few spate parts. If it was an M14 or an AR, I could tell you what I need. I've never had issues with this rifle, so I really don't know what to put in my kit. Can one of you experts direct me in an assembly of a basic trouble shooting kit?

Thanks in advance for the reply, I look forward to hangin' out a bit with the UZI crowd.

Welcome, Welcome friend. Just a warning, we can be a wild bunch. Shalom from the Jerusalem Cowboys -yeeeee dawgie! :jester

Shalom! My friends call me Hop-A-Long Goldberg! There were Jewish Cowboys, they were big tough dudes, and the could shoot really good! (actually, I'm only 1/2 Jewish.....The GOOD half!)

I primarily build/shoot M14s, and ARs, but I've kept my lil UZI for the last 25 years as a PDW. Good to meet you, friend!

If you can think of a parts kit I can build to have on hand for the future, let me know.

Thanks, Todd

Todd,

Welcome to the board, of course!

I would get a spare firing pin and extractor. Not much to
break on one of these. I sure wish some of the other boards
had the retailed how to section that these guys have assembled.

Hey 2ba! Nice to see a familiar face. Yes, I'm impressed with the site here. Suggested vendors for the small parts?

I can see buying an extra extractor for a spare part, and even a firing pin, but installing the new firing pin looks like a difficult job, and I would love to know how that would be accomplished. My Owners Manual strongly discourages disassembly of that entire group, and it's a question I've had for a long time. The firing pin looks to me like its fragile, or at least thin and weak.

AD58, the manual is for basic service and maintenance. I've never been a basic service and mantenance kind of guy. :patriot

I'm having a bit of trouble finding a vendor that has more than 1 item of what I need. FPin, opspring, top cover small parts, springs throughout, and a couple of extractors.

If there are any M14 shooters out there, I have new TRW bolts for some swappin!

Have you been doing any FAL building or have you mainly focused on building M14's?

I haven't messed with FALs since the late 80s. Mainly ARs and M14/M1A. I do mess with BHPs a lot. The UZI was purchased new in 83.

I hear good things about DSAs these days. Some folks have actually touted them over the original FNs, but no first hand.

Dawg, if it's black, holds a bunch of cartridges, and goes bang when ya pull the trigger... I LOVE IT!

God, I wish! :) I have no parts for swappin, but would love to have a TRW kit for a build....Oh where is that lottery win?! :silly
