I've lurked for a while, mainly in the Mac forum down below. Have spent more time in GT and AR15 before i came across this site a while back.

I figured it was time to join up and post this when i came across this gun the other day:

IMI / Action Arms semi-auto in hardcase, 45 conversion, 9 conversion, both folding metal and quick release wooden stock, sling, manual, scope mount with Tasco red-dot, 7-8 9mm mags, 4-5 45 mags, mag loader, sight tool, maybe anoither item or two. It is mint, he bought it unfired from a friend and had put a few hundred rounds through it (He showed it to me a few months back the first time he brought it to the range.)

He is someone i know from the range- he is moving to California and offered his brass supply to me. He indicated he would probably not get back into reloading so I could just have it (Nice haul too). Last week when i picke dup the brass, he was moaning about having to do sell a couple of guns due to the move. The UZI came out and I was able to go over it very closely- it was spotless, no wear, all pristene. Its function is perfect as i have seen him shoot it a few times in recent months. (Conveniently I reload both 9 and 45 on a couple of dillon 550s too....)

He says he has $1800 in it and all the accesories, offered it to me for $1600.

I'm at a point with my guns that i don't mind paying a fair price for a nice gun- and this is one nice gun. Frankly, an UZI would nicely fill a void in the collection too.

So, to end this ramble, 2 questions:
1- the price- high, low, fair or not enough information?
and
2- say i bought this, then filed for SBR on it. Is this a mistake? Help value, hurt value, no difference in value?

Nice forum; thanks in advance for any input on this-
BH

The 45acp IMI kits are rare anymore, and the 45 mags are bringing over $65 each average.

This is just part of my collection, add another (13) 25 round mags, (7) 32 round mags, a 40 S&W barrel, spare lower with M3 magwell, (8) M3 mags, 6 still in wrapper, 2 set up to feed 40 & 45, an AWC Mk9 suppressor, wood quick detach stock from parts kit, (4) std IMI 45acp 10 round and (1) 16 round mag.... I'll be updating pic before too long.

$1600 may be fair, grab it and enjoy life, I own mine since Mar-1988, do the SBR thing, allow you to have more fun with Uzi as it was originally design, compact, no long goofy barrel sticking into next county.

cohutt, welcome to UZI Talk.

The price seems fair. Not a steal but a reasonable price for the gun and accessories listed. A qucik detach stock is illegal to put on a semi-auto because a QD stock doesn't count as part of overall length. If you want a wood stock you'll need to get one with a bolt on bracket.

SBR won't change the value much. Don't do it unless you plan on keeping the gun. If you do it, you have to engrave your name, city and state on the gun.

I know better on the quick detach- that makes sense. Maybe i misundertsood or he misspoke.
If i go SBR it will be to keep it. If i'm going to pay $200 once i might as well do it twice and add a 45 can to ther NFA inventory in the safe.

You like the AWC can? I was considering a Gemtech -
