I need to be 100% proof-positive sure about something. I think I know the answer, but I need to be totally right here.
Under what circumstances were/are slotted Uzi bolts married to a receiver?
Thanks,
Mike

You've brought up an ugly topic.
I suggest you check out the thread below:

Keep in mind if it is a registered bolt, it is not married permanently to anything. But as long as it is in the gun the gun can have an SMG barrel and lower on it. My registered bolt makes mention of what receiver serial # it is installed in for this reason. But that "marriage" can be divorced easily.
An unregistered slotted bolt is an entirely different beast as discussed in Amphib's link.

Oh, I know this is an ugly topic.
Unfortunately, it's nothing compared to the ugliness I'm dealing with at this point. Why bullshit has to land on my lap on a friday afternoon is well beyond me.
%$#@!
Thank you both, and a special thank you to amphibian for the link.

Bottom line:
For RR's with a slotted bolt: The combination of gun and bolt were improperly registered prior to the pre-86 making. They become married and the marriage must remain intact. The host must remain a title 1 gun.
For reg. bolt: The host must be a title 1 but can be any old title 1. Yes, a short barrel can go on the title 1 host when the registered bolt is in it.
