Full Auto UZI vs Revolver - which one would you pick?
Before you answer, watch this (may have to copy & paste link):

Just goes to show, it aint the weapon - its the man behind the trigger.
(if I had to go up against that guy in the field, I would drop my uzi and run like a little girl)

FA UZI of course. Jerry Michulek (sp?) is not a human he is a droid kind of like Terminator. I could never achieve that kind of speed even with a tuned out revolver like that. Revolver is certainly more reliable, but I wil take the UZI any day. Plus it is sooo much cooler!

Shlomo my relative who lives in Alfei Menashe carried a Webley revolver and now carries an Uzi SMG. The Webley is probably older than him (WWII vintage?). I would prefer the Mini Uzi over the full size Uzi for its compactness.

In a LFI class I took back in the '80s, Masaad Ayoob asked the question:
"Would you rather face Woody Allen struggling to pick up a Model 29 Smith & Wesson, or Clint Eastwood wielding a NAA .22 5-shot derringer?"
It ain't the weapon, it's the man
To make the man, you have to have the proper mindset and supreme confidence in both yourself and your weapon. To achieve that takes a lot of training -- and even more practice!
Good training will make you dangerous for life. But constant practice will make (and keep you lethal). All the training I've ever had is still with me, but without the constant practice, I've gotten somewhat rusty.
I'd give my left stone, three pints of blood, my eye teeth and my first-born son if only I could shoot like Jerry Miluc... however the hell he spells his name.
BTW, saw a 1-hour program on the History Channel recently that featured Jerry M. for about 20 minutes, but was completely unrelated to the clip shown in the link.

Revolvers have thier place, and are revered as total reliability in a firearm.
I know some things like ammo or a defective gun can cause problems but that aside...
If you use an UZI in self-defense, you go to jail for going over-kill.
If you use a revolver, you look a lot more justified.
Factors that I would consider are:
How many people are after you?
How many of said people are armed?
Armed with what?
Are they on drugs or of sound mind?
How may rounds are on your person?
What is the scenario?
In a building, on the street in a car, in the middle of nowhere, where?
Too many parameters.
I think the UZI overall is the better choice. It is a rock solid performer and can go semi or full auto to meet the situation with the correct response. This doesnt mean that the aftermath will be fairly judged, it just means you will more than likely walk away from the ordeal.

you guys totally missed the point. You werent supposed to seriously answer the question. the point was, no matter what weapon you carry it still comes down to the man behind the trigger.

Heh on one liberal forum, they were talking about gun control and how the lack of it warranted a civil war, and one poster said that he saw a full-auto revolver on sale for cheap the other day.
Each gun has it's place, you can't compare them.

The late Dr. Hunter S. Thompson once recounted a tale when he pulled his Chevrolet over in the middle of the desert to take a leak when he felt himself threatened by a Gila Monster, whereupon he emptied his ever-present .357 Mag. revolver at it, and then discovered a State Trooper was standing behind him.
Thompson apologized to the Trooper, explaining that his weapon unexpectedly went full-auto.
I'd love to see that revolver! http://www.uzitalk.com/forums/images/smilies/scream.gif

(Clearing my throat after a round of hearty laughter) Excuse me. A bunch of libs talking about arming themselves and fomenting a civil war in order to impose gun control. My mind reels. How oxymoronic on so many levels!
Taken at face value, I'd say, hell, bring it on, nit-wits! If they run true-to-form, then we should have a chance to do some damn serious housecleaning in this country. If they fight their so-called civil war the way they want to run the war in Iraq, we should have all their asses kicked inside of three weeks (sooner if we don't take the weekends off!).
Hopefully, a lot of them will be armed with those "only dropped once" French rifles! :-)
On a more serious side, though, there is an element among the Left that is truly beginning to alarm me. Let's suppose some of these nut-burgers are serious and begin arming themselves and committing crimes that stirs up public opinion that would favor stricter gun control. It's already happening if you remember all the enviro-wacko groups out there committing terrorist acts against medical research labs, logging operations, etc.
The Nazis in Germany gained control (and later solidified it) by staging acts and framing Jews, socialists and their other enemies. The tactic can work. The Reichstag was burned by the Nazis and they successfully blamed it on their enemies. I wouldn't put anything past many in the Left. After all, every time I think the Democrats couldn't possibly sink any lower, I'm still amazed that they can.
Each gun has it's place, you can't compare them.
Yep. That's the truth. All my handguns are different, yet none of them are my favorites. They're almost like my children in that regard.
While I wouldn't feel under-gunned in any situation I'm ever in with a .357 Mag., I still don't feel quite right unless it's my 1911 or my Hi-Power resting on my right hip.
Just my two cents' worth.

Nice to see MAGAV getting their recognition. Everytime a Border Guard unit whacks a bag guy IDF gets the credit. Good to see SWAT knows the difference.
Whats up y'all, nice to be back.
