I have seen some R4 parts sold over the years.

I have 5 R4 mags.

I have heard of at least one guy with a semi R4 build.

What's the story with R4 kits/parts?

We are using up the last of the IMI kits/parts.

Colombia is a possible source for more kits/parts.

Why not South Africa as a source for kits/parts?

I know that there were a bunch of UZI parts that came in from South Africa.

It would be cool to have a South African R4 semi clone.

Any word on the South African connection?

Ugh!

John Yuzamas has a bunch of parts from South Africa. I thought South Africa signed some UN agreement to destroy surplus weapons instead of selling them.

Ugh!,

I was wondering about that whole UN thing.

Does JY have a web site these days?

TIA

Oswald:

I don't know about a Web site, but he can e-mail you a list of parts he has on hand as he did for me recently when I bought a few things from him.

Ugh!

John Y does not have a website, but advertises at www.Sturmgewehr.com. Ontario guns also has a bunch of R4 parts.

I guess to make the clone you would need the following R4 specific parts:

1 folding stock
2 Bolt(it has a rubber washer in it, different than the free flot and spring loaded firing pin Galil bolts)
3 Rear handguard retainers
4 Handguards
5 Front site hood and post
6 Gas tube
7 Magazine

There also used be a guy named Lance Marshal that was selling R4 parts years ago, not sure if he still is.

South Africas gun laws are worse than ours. they are not making any R-4s and parts are very hard to come by. you can email me for a list of parts that I have.
