Sorry, I screwed with searches and couldn't find what I was looking for....

Is the legal length of a rifle restricted to greater than 26" OAL, stock collapsed? If so, why are Uzi 9mm carbines allowed at 24.5" Is this a grandfather thing?

You measure with the stock completely extended according to federal law.

Some states have parallel laws which say you have to meet their minimum with the stock folded, which is why minis have the longer barrels.

Well, I better not go to one of those parallel States! Thank you for your reply

You're in Texas, with a semi carbine? SBR that sucker! It's the only way to go.

I'm ahead of ya! I was just looking at some posts, measured the rifle I've had for years, and thought "wait a minute!"

Unfortunately, my first SBR/Suppressed venture will not be the UZI....I've semi completed an AR 9mmSBR 7.5"...Next on the list will be the .223 Commando RR. Paperwork has been signed off on and sent in on the 9mmAR.

I do have an extra 16.1" bbl for the UZI, it's just a matter of time (and pprwork) b4 it gets circumsized!

Local LE is real cool in my county.

Ah yes, the Jewish version of the Uzi.

But, of course! The Jewzi! Who knew?

Funny how it works out. I purchased the M16 receiver over 20 years ago, and it's stayed with a dealer friend of mine. They were cheap then, and I thought I would get around to it someday. He's getting old, and I hope the paperwork goes through before he dies!
