I think it is great that all of these companies have been releasing kits & making recievers in 5.56. It would be even nicer if they would also do the same for the 7.62 versions. I know that I would buy one if they came out with the 7.62 version.

It would be nice , but there are no 7.62 kits on the market. Galils in the feild were mostly 5.56.

Thats true, 5.56 is the standard for the IDF, but they still make 7.62 recievers for their sniper models to this day and they are no different than all other semi auto models (the recievers). I just wish that someone like ORF would make recievers also in 7.62. I believe that there is a demand out there for the larger caliber in the Galil.

In all my years in Israel I never even saw one Galil of the ARM, AR, SAR, or Micro variation chambered for 7.62mm. At the time when the Galil was in service the only 7.62mm infantry weapons I remember were the FN MAG and M14. The "Sayerot" or SF units also had access to all the com-bloc weps. Currently, the Galatz is in extremely limited usage and has been replaced by guns like the Stoner SR-25. If a 7.62 reciever is released and parts can be had I am in. Remember Oswald always bringing up the subject of mint kits from Colombia's Indumil that is the key. They would have the parts kits we need.

Well the only other big issue would be how to how to feed it. Full sized Galil 7.62 mags are very hard to come by, and are expensive.

CDNN 308 galil mags are realitively cheap. Its the cutting the Mag well, a new bolt and barrel that is the rare and expensive part.

The CDNN mags are 12 round mags and a good buy. They will be sold out at some point. Buy 'em while ya can!

I have seen 25 round mags for sale for $150-$200 a piece. Holy smokes!

Does Colombia use the 7.62 Galil sniper model?

The IWI site shows the 7.62 Galil sniper model as current production. It amazes me that we can't get the 25 round mags imported.

1. Buy from the Colombians if they are producing the 25 round mags.

2. Have Israel sell some 25 round mags to Guatemala and then import them from there. Just like all the Galil kits hitting the market.

Israel can't sell anything right now without permission from Uncle Sam to other countries, & they have no distributors here in the US. I have tried to deal with IWI but they are looking for a min. investment of @ least $100K, & on top of that one would have to get all the proper certificates & licenses from the State Dept. to get the parts here. You can't get any of these parts even if you live in Israel. NUTS!

How did CDNN get the 12 round .308 Galil mags and 35 round 5.56 Galil mags?

Obviously, they are coming from somewhere.
