View Full Version : Headspacing for longest service life?

Ok, I know the basics of headspacing a Galil barrel are "go gauge fits, no-go doesn't". But there will be a range in which these occur. What part of that range would be the best point for longest service life?

I'm (completely) guessing that a tighter would be better as it would only open up as the barrel wears, and that the "loosest" headspace would open up too much earlier. That is the tightest fit possible on a "go gauge"? Or how much is this really an issue?
