Guys,

Our Galil Insider Oswald informed me that someone is working on new repro. wood handguards. This company is Ironwood Designs out of California run by Matt Schuster.

http://www.ironwooddesigns.com/index.html

I spoke with Matt today and told him that I am sure many Galil Talkers would be interested in a set. He has not started on them yet, but he plans to do so by the end of the month. I asked whether the handguards would he would be making are for the AR, ARM, or both. He did not know yet, but did tell me he will only be offering the wood handguards and not the internal cage so keep your crappy C kits handguards. Matt is also fairly certain he can devise a jig to rerivet the wood to the cage without damage. Sarco is offering new handguard rivets for $2/ rivet, but I am sure that there are other solutions out there as well.

Thanks for the comments Sayeret, I like it too. Suka, I just been at it a long time that's all. If I was starting now I couldn't afford all this stuff. There is a guy on another board that is working on some Valmet pistol grips and I hope I can get him to do Galil grips next. I think there is a big market now. How bout your guy at Ironwood?

Matt is a great guy to deal with! All his furniture is done on a milling machine and the AK stuff is top shelf. I'm sure whatever he brings to market for the galils will be great as well.

For some Galil grips, PM or Email BattleRifleG3 on the http://www.forum.Saiga-12.com Forum. He makes all kinds of furniture right now. He's made galil grips as well. There is a page stickied on the top of the For Sale section over there.

jmikesteen, that is a sharp rifle!

I thought i would post this for those interseted in wood handguards. I spoke with Matt today about future ARM and AR Galil handguards. Apparently someone was kind enough to loan him some samples to model. If your reading this whoever you the Galil talk board SALUTES YOU! Matt stated in approximately 2 weeks they should have a prototype. In order for you to find out when these will be available you can gat on his email list at AKforum.net. I sure wish I could find an R4 wood handguard to model off of myself.

I think I read somewhere that ORF only has a very few R4 wood handguards.

I believe I saw a quote in the $75 area.

Of course, best to check with Todd though.

If I cant find any IMI products I would be interrested.
But I would rather keep my gun "all IMI" for as long as possible ;)

But I would love the 10/22 stock he sells ;)

You mean to say that you wouldn't want to buy a set of Zebrawood Galil handguards for a pimped out ARM? :jester

Does anyone know if the AR-15 flash hider will fit the Galil? I was surprised that they are right hand threads.
