View Full Version : WTK: Uzi 9mm buffer??

The buffer on my 9mm Uzi recoil spring is starting to break apart. Does anyone sell replacement buffers for the Uzi? I checked out buffertechnologies.com but I couldn't find any Uzi buffers on their site.

Or, is it even possible to remove the buffer from the recoil spring assembly? Is the solution to buy a whole new recoil spring/buffer assembly from Vector? Thanks in advance for any help you can give!

cdnninvestments.com used to have some. Not sure if they're still in stock or not. I'd guess Vector has some too.

There's usually some floating around the auction sites as well.

Thanks for your reply! Quick clarification, though: When you say "cdnninvestments.com used to have some," do you mean CDNN used to have some REPLACEMENT BUFFERS or do you mean CDNN used to have some ENTIRE RECOIL SPRING ASSEMBLYS?

Sorry, I read your post quickly and saw the recoil buffer and thought you meant one of the semi buffers. I'm not sure if anyone sells the thin buffers for the SMG. (They're not much of a buffer. It's more to hold the recoil spring in place.) I'm sure CDNN won't have those.

Have you checked with Vector to see if they sell the buffer separately? You should also check D&D Sales.

You could buy a semi buffer and cut a 1/4" to 1/2" slice off of it to replace the SMG buffer. That wouldn't affect your ROF too much.

Will, FWIW, I just (yesterday) ordered three buffers for my SMG from Vector. They will cut them to any length -- I opted for 0.5", 1.0" and 1.4". IIRC it was $8 per buffer plus $5 per to cut 'em down. And they've got plenty in stock. I imagine they will cut them to whatever you want/need.

Also, BlackJack just started making Uzi SMG buffers in 1/4", 3/8" and 1/2" thick in their indestructible material. IIRC, Randy is selling them for $10 each or $25 for a set of three. He is at rsloan1@comcast.net

Blackjack/Randy finally started making Uzi buffers? WAHHHOOOOOO! He's always been my Ak buffer hookup, and now I'm going to have to bug him even more :D !

I just checked out Randy's web site and it looks like he's got some great stuff! However, I would like to get a few 1/8" thick Uzi SMG buffers. The thinnest size on his web site is 1/4". I e-mailed Randy and left a phone message about possibly getting three 1/8" thick buffers. Hopefully, he won't mind doing this.

I also called Vector, and Susan, who answered the phone, said Vector only sells the apparently semi buffers that customers must cut down themselves.

bigu2fan...

Vector has complete new recoil/buffer assemblies for $25/ea.

Listen to CYRUS (whoever he is.. @ subguns.com ....lol) :)

BTW: I ordered a few "cut-to-length" semi-auto buffers from Vector! Ask for Brock... he took my order.

Thanks guys. The buffers look real good. They look like they are cut from urethane sheets instead of his pouring method used on his other buffers. I woulder why he decided to do this.

Nope, they are poured. Made form the same material as the Extreme duty AK buffers. The only stamped buffers I have left are for the Mac-11 and they will be poured when those are gone.

I can cut down my 1/4" buffers to 1/8" if that's what you need.

A few things to consider. You could make the cutout for the blocking bar and the buffers could be used on both FA and SA models. This would be good for those of us with bolt guns. Also, for buffers that are going to be used with a stock in place (99.9% will) you should relieve them for the stock nut. You can see what that looks like on the SA buffers. The relief for the stock nut only need be 1/8" deep. For a 1/8" buffer, if you make one, that would mean a complete cutout. But since those would most likely be used as a replacement for FA buffers, that would be OK. Karl.

If someone would be willing to send me an "allready modified, just the way I like it" (uh huh un huh) ;) buffer I can reproduce them, actual drawings and deminsions will work also.
