Well, my Form 3 was just approved so my baby will probably be in-state in the next couple of weeks. I'm pushing my estimated acquisition date back to early January now. This wait is killing me! How do people get on with their lives when they are waiting for their first C3?

On the plus side, the Bank of Wife authorized my first accessory purchase so I called Vector and picked up 3 32-rnd mags, the blackhawk case and 2 semi-buffers. I figured this made a good combination of the bare minimum accessories until more funds are approved.

I kinda like the Blackhawk case but a few things strike me as odd. First, it includes pockets for 3 mags but easily could have accomodated 5 or 6, which would have been nice. Second, its great that it has straps to hold the gun in place but they are all for holding a horizontal portion of the gun (i.e., the barrel). Seems it should have accomodated some vertical straps to hold the grip. And finally, and most strange to me, the shoulder strap is attached in a bizarre location. If you you hold your arm straight out with the strap over your hand, The bottom (back?) of the case is facing up. The only thing I can make of it is that it is intended to be worn across your back.

Oh well, please keep posting Uzi pictures so those of us in NFA Forms Hell can get by day to day.

SMG4Me, unfortunately there's no way to make the wait for your first gun easier. But as you know, it will be worth the wait.

One thing to keep in mind on the Blackhawk cases - they aren't designed for an UZI. They're designed for the MP5, so things aren't organized exactly like you would expect when the UZI goes in.

The only way I made it throught my first transfer was to put it out of my mind and it was a good thing I did because it took close to 8 months.....

I have the Blackhawk cases and have made the same observations. I bought the case for the FS Uzi SMG and the mini case for my PDW. Dave's point is well made, they work well for the H&K guns and are Ok for the Uzi.

I also want a hard, lockable case for both guns. I ran across this (http://store.yahoo.com/cdnn/piscas15alne.html) and am a bit intrigued. The PDW should fit OK, but the Uzi would have to go in diagonally and may not fit with the folding stock attached (I normally favor the QD wood stock). The price is certainly right. I'll let you know how it works out when I get it in my hot little hands.

Thats funny. I think the Uzi fits better in these cases than my MP5K.

INSTRUCTIONS:
Place Full-Size UZI in case w/ bbl pointed left.
Move the left hand velcro retaining strap over one slot to the right... so that the strap fits behind the front sight ears & the cocking knob & not just around the bbl!

GOOD GRIEF!

It holds all your krap like a mofo... what's not to like?

stymie, no one said the cases were hard to figure out, just that the straps are not where I'd put them if I was actually designing it for an UZI. I've got the Mini UZI case (actually the MP5K case) so I can't comment on how well the full size UZI fits but there's no where to move the straps on the Mini case such that the straps would really line up nicely.

RoverDave...

...is to place it in a Samsonite Secret Service foam-lined case! (....or an Ever's rig).

I was just referring to the Full-Size in a Blackhawk (scroll^ ...lol) ...j/k
Those straps can be adjusted for a perfect, secure fit. It might not be obvious to someone at 1st glance... that the velcro retaining straps can be moved over.

I still want an OP-case!

I have the MP5K case and found that by cutting the straps in half length wise gives me a bit more flexibility.

stymie, I have an Ever's shoulder rig and they're great! I'd love to get a Samsonite SS case if I could find one.

Stymie,

I knew they could be moved but, without the benefit of having the gun, I thought it would be nice to have one of the straps around the grip (the one the magazine goes in, not the forward grip) and one around the barrel (by barrel, I meant somewhere along the receiver near where you are descibing).

It seems to me that would require one of the straps to be horizontal and the other to be vertical but they all are only designed to attach in a vertical fashion to a horizontal component of the gun.

I have a question for you Blackhawk Case fans. I recently got one for my Uzi. No, I didn't have any problem figuring out how to fit the gun in it.

In looking at it, it is evident that if I had about three more of the retention straps, I could also put a suppressor in the case, with little danger of them "talking" to each other. I contacted Blackhawk about getting some more, and they only sell additional mag pouches, no straps.

I don't sew, or have a signifigant other at the moment that does, so do any of you have a suggestion as to where I might be able to come up with some more straps?
