Howdy all. I have a dilema. I've found what I think is a good deal on a Model A, but like all good things,I wanna make sure it is what it's supposed to be. Since I like up here in the mitten,I can't own a Class III. How can I tell by looking if my 'good deal' won't wind me up in the slammer? Everybody is talking about registered bolts. How do they differ? Sorry if this has already been discussed,(I don't get out enough):silly :waving if it has, a link will do nicely. Thanks in advance,
Kent

If the gun did have a "reg'd. bolt", that would mean the owner would need to transfer it to you the same as if the receiver were reg'd. I think what you're getting at is, an "illegal, unreg'd bolt". That's very unlikely. But, look at the bolt, is it a one piece unit? Or is it a bolt and a seperate firing pin/striker assembly? Does it have a "full feedlip"? A legal semi auto gun has a two piece bolt with part of the feedlip area cut back. Bolt thread in reference area (http://www.uzitalk.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=1445). So how's the couch cricket doing? Karl.

Thanks for the info,Karl. I knew this was the place to ask!:D I'll have to double check it,before I buy. The cricket is doing real well. Eating like a horse, growing like a weed and finally sleeping thru the night(most times). I think I got my scanner working again,I'll try to e-mail you a picture.
Thanks for the info AND the thought!
Thanks,
Kent
