I have a nearly-new Uzi 9mm. The person i bought it from said it had fired 100 rounds since new. The problem i'm having with it is it's sometimes not striking the rounds when i pull the trigger. This has happened at least one time per 25 round mag. One time and only one time it actually struck a round that did not go off. Could someone please tell me what may be wrong with it and what i should do. Thanks.
PS-if it helps i have an Israeli made gun, not a chinese

:welcome therook82. That could be caused by a lot of things, so let's get to work on it. Is it a registered receiver gun or a registered bolt gun? Do you know if the recoil assembly is for a full auto gun? Is there a semi auto buffer in the gun? Have you tried to see if there is anything causing the bolt to hang up? Are the mags factory IMI? Mags are my first guess. Is the ammo good? Factory hot loads work best, but most factory ammo will work. Karl.

Thank you for responding so quickly to my question. I have a semi-auto gun. It was clearly made for civilian sale so i would assume it has not full-auto components. I have disassembled the gun and looked to see if anything looked wrong but i don't really know what i'm looking for. I have a lot of experience with the M4 so i know about semi-auto/burst fire guns but the UZI's built a lot different so i may be missing something. The only reason i wouldn't think it was the mags is because they're almost brand new (same age and use as the gun) and the problem happens with either mags. If it is the mags, were could i get some good ones?

Is it a model B? The model B bolt has a "blocking latch" on the bottom of it. Its purpose is to prevent the gun from firing out of battery, and it only allows the firing pin to go forward far enough to strike the primer of a cartridge when the bolt itself is completely forward. From what I gather, you are having a situation where the firing pin is going forward as normal but is not actually striking the primer, which sounds like a potential issue with the model B and the blocking latch? If that is the case, you will still hear a hitting noise as the firing pin striker assembly goes forward. Are you actually hearing that, or is it just stuck and not moving at all? It may be really simple, but have you checked to make sure the bolt was actually completely forward as far as it will go when this happens? Now, if you have a model A, disregard all that....With the model B, what I just described can happen for a number of reasons. It may just be too tight inside the receiver, not allowing the bolt a completely smooth motion, there could be an issue with the way the bolt is hitting the barrel. If the chamber gets dirty, a cartridge may not go in far enough, and the blocking latch would then work to actually do its job as a safety device, by not firing. Along the same lines, it could be bad ammo even, though that would have to be some crappy ammo to not even chamber completely...All that probably did not help much to pinpoint anything, but I would at least check it to make sure the bolt is going forward completely, and if not, then try to see if some of those reasons above were causing the problem...and again all that was on the assumption that you have a model B, so go figure.
