Are they the same? Or maybe I should ask are they interchangable? Just thinking about ordering one from vector to have an extra just in case.

If I am not mistaken, IMI put an extractor with a smaller lip in the semi. I suppose they did this to make it a little bit more difficult to extract as many rounds in rapid succession, if one were so inclined as to attempt to convert the semi to a full auto. A full-auto extractor will have a wider lip on it, and it will fit on the semi or full auto bolt. It seems like I read all that somewhere a while back. If it is wrong, I am sure someone will correct me...

There are different extractors out there. Some are IMI and some by FN. Some are for the 45 and some are 9mm. The Lyttleton are identical to the IMI. And yes, the FA have a wider lip. Karl.

Called Vector today. They told me the extractors are diffrent and listed as seperate part #s I really did not get a clear answer as to wether or not they were interchangable? I ordered the semi extractor as a spare.

The wide lip extractor gives more positive extraction in full auto.

They are interchangeable, so be sure to keep them separated if you have both laying around.
