Would you guys advise the purchase of an UZI pistol to compliment my IMI Model A?
Do they handle well, shoot well or are they just a novelty. I am trying to decide on my next firearm and am considering an UZI pistol or a Sites Spectre. Any advice is welcome :thinking

i have one .. like it .. very dependable . fun to shoot .. bang bang bang bang bang x more bangs ... mine is accurate .. but heavy and bulky for a pistol .. its more of a 'look what i got' at the range and to friends more than anything else ... 800 is a fair price ..

I had a Spectre but dumped it. Mags are impossible to to find and very expensive when you do! It was cool but I don't pay over $200 bux per mag for anything but drums!

I'm pretty much in line with chrisp929 post, I have just sold/traded my .45 for another Mini. It is a very cool weapon and will turn heads at the range. If your looking for practical handgun for carry there are better choices for sure. If you want the cool factor and a lot of fun with 32rnd 9mm firepower...well. Would be a great sidekick for your Mod. A too!

I wasn't crazy about mine. It seemed more of a novelty than anything else. I only had mine 8 weeks B4 I sold it.

I LOVE MINE !!!

I have owned it and carried it for 12 plus years. It is the perfect compliment to my Mod B. There is no question it is heavy but then again so is a Hummer. It is bullet proof, deadly accurate and is reliable beyond reproach (only one failure in over 2,000 rounds and that was a bad round of ammo). I carry mine in a custom nylon shoulder rig that hangs on the left side and and holds 4 mags on the right side (two 25 and two 32 rnd mags). After a while I forget it is there, then again I am 6'2" and 350+ lbs. The weight of the pistol soaks up felt recoil, especially when it is setup in the .45 acp configuration. I bought the .45 acp pistol with a 9mm conversion unit which consists of bolt, magazine, barrel. The pistol is a handful allright and when you are used to it's weight it is as functional as just about any semiauto pistol. It is not for the weak. Admittedly that is a lot of weight hanging off the end of your arms when standing rigid in the weaver stance. By all means find and shoot one prior to buying one. It would be a costly mistake to find out after 50 rounds that this pistol is not for you !! Some ranges rent them. One or two ranges here in Seattle have them in stock to rent and shoot. Perhaps one near you will have one aswell.
There is the whole issue of political correctness to deal with when and if you decide to carry it for personal protection. Heck, nowadays a nasty DA can try to hang you out to dry for using handloads in your carry pistol not to mention any "improvements " you decide to add to your gun. I do carry my Sig 220 in .45 acp a great deal and is my primary carry weapon.

I can not speak more highly of the pistol. I will NEVER sell it. A few months ago I bought a new barrel in 9mm for it just like the one at the top of all our forum pages with the comp slots cut in it. Very cool and a nice addition. $59.00 from Vector.
I see the pistols for sale often on the online auction sites, Gunbroker, Auctionarms etc. many around $1,000.00 but if you are patient, $800.00 is very possible. I have made deals with sellers AFTER their auction closed with a no sale often at a very reduced price. Not all guns were meant for all people so don't buy one because all your friends are getting them or the gun rags say to. Use the same techniques you would use when buying any gun. Asking owners is a good first step and that is what you are doing here. Handle one at a shop or range and shoot it if you can. Try to find a 9mm conversion unit if you can if you run across a .45 version. The 9mm version is most readily available. Good luck in your search and we will be happy to welcome you as a new pistol owner if you so decide. Let me know if I can be of any help or service to you in the future as you research and study this fine weapon. JIMBO :D :thumbs_up
