recoil spring help

I am trying not to send my vector uzi in. I thought I would try a new recoil spring. I purchased a F/A recoil spring. Could someone please tell me how to make it work with my semi auto carbine. I am pretty sure I just cut the foot off but it appears to be considerably longer than the semi auto version. Just in case I order a semi recoil spring. But I am impatient. Thanks for your help in advance.

I used a FA recoil spring assembly in one of my Semis with no problem.

All I did was break the red fiber plate off the end, then put the assembly into the gun as normal. It sticks out the front of the bolt a little, but it does not present a problem during reassembly or disassembly.
