View Full Version : Use of Sling with FS Uzi?

I'm new to Uzi's. How do you use an orignal Uzi sling? I'm use to 3 point slings and the Uzi sling is short. Is it intended only for carry and shooting with the stock collasped? Over the shoulder, over the neck & shoulder?
Are there any Uzi training DVD's?
Thanks

While I am waiting on my sling to come in the mail, I would say that they are at least good for carrying the firearm. I know I'll use it.....

The subject is like discussing theology; there is no resolve. my preference is to use the sling, with a pad from NFANut of course, for shoulder carry. The UZI, although compact, is a hefty piece of weaponry when loaded. My experience as part of the SFGVN in 1969 thru 1970 did not put a great deal of emphasis on the tactical use of a sling, but times have changed since then. :patriot

The sling arangement on the UZI is about the only shortcoming I see in the weapon. It always seems to get in the way, and isn't convenient to shoot with for anything but hip-shooting. The loop on the folder is too close to my face when shouldered, and the sling is right there.

I agree
Too short and rear attachment in your face
Is the sling then just for show?

From all of the photos I have seen and my own experience it seems that the sling is best suited for carrying the firearm. I do not think it was designed for 'sharpshooter' or 'sniper' applications but if you figure out a way I would like to hear about it. There is a CD-ROM on shooting the 'Israeli' way with an UZI that I have seen on eBay and Gunbroker but I have never heard anyone talk about it. Maybe someone here has bought a copy.

As you can see in the fith pic down, she cannot use a sling and get her cheek that close?
