As you know, an UZI semi-auto doesn't have a hold open or bolt lock back after firing the last round.
After using all the magazine ammo, could pulling on the trigger, cause one lost ammo count, harm the firing pin and related parts ?

I have never given it much thought, but some guys I know use a spring loaded snap cap as the first round loaded into every Uzi mag Semi or FA, or any open bolt Machine gun for that matter.

I was wondering this myself. The fireing pin does seem long and thin....

My UZI instruction manual says 'TO" dry fire it. It says its OK. Go figger.

My Vector has that in the manual as well.

huh, interesting. I'll probably pick up a few snap caps....It is even possible to find spare fireing pins for norincos?

When firing on an empty chamber, the semi-auto firing pin bottoms on the wide flange at the rear end of the pin against the rear of the bolt. The forward end of the firing pin hits nothing.
So IMO, dry firing won't hurt a bit.

Thank you Sir Zark. I had been wondering about that for some time and your explanation is valued.
