I've been reading this forum for a few weeks now and I'm bored at the moment so I decided to register.  I've been a machine gun fan for a long time and I just finished school not long ago so I can actually buy this stuff now.

I've been an UZI fan for a LONG TIME.  About a year ago I heard about Vector and I was dead set on getting one.  I put off buying the Vector until about Thanksgiving when I finally broke down and went ahead with it.  As luck would have it my money got to Vector through a group deal on 12/16/02, the same fateful day they sold out.  I think it's pretty safe to say that I will probably have one of the last few Vector full sized guns that leaves the factory.  Boy did I cut it a little close huh?

By the time Vector delivers and the Form 3 goes through to my dealer, it will probably be a month from now.  Then the form 4 fun begins.  I probably won't see my gun until May.  Good thing there aren't any CLEO's that don't sign off in NH.  Chiefs beg to sign for stuff around here.

I'll probably be asking a ton of stupid questions so bear with me!

dustindu4, you're going to love your Vector. Hopefully you'll be able to visit her frequently once she's delivered to your dealer. It makes the time go faster. The wait on your first form 4 is the most painful, but also the most exciting. Post pictures when you can.

The 4 months gives you plenty of time to buy/load ammo and to plan out accessories.

I've heard that Litchfield chief doesn't sign for NFA stuff. Is this true or was my source mistaken?

I don't know. If litchfield didn't sign for stuff I'm sure I would have heard about it, especially from Jim McLoud. I live right near there. Good thing I'm connected politically in the town I live in where I think I could get a sign off anyway if there was a problem.

Why? Do you live there?

No, I don't live there but have relatives there. Heard of Wilson Farms? My neice is married to the Wilson family, Calvin, the owner.
Maybe a different CLEO now but heard in the past that even CCW permits were a pain to get there. Ask Jim next time you see him if that CLEO signs or not, or if a previous one wouldn't.

I bought all three of my Uzi's from Jim. His place is kind of out of my way when I travel, but have been there a couple of times.
I live in southeastern MA.
Small world huh?

Politically connected? I thought that rights belong to all citizens equally unless disqualified for one or another reason? That sounds a little Chicago, ish to me.

The only political conection I would ever want to claim is being responsible for putting a corrupt one in the slammer for a few years.

CLEOs whether they like it or not have to issue CCWs because of state "shall Issue" law. I would have bought my UZI from Jim but he ran out of em after he sold 325. I got in this too late in the game.

I'm almost positive a bunch of people in my shooting club live in Litchfield and they have recently got signatures very recently. I've never heard of anyone who couldn't get a signature around here.

That was a mistake on my part.
MA is a "MAY DISCRIMINATE" state, where the CLEO might not like the shirt you wear, or have a personal bias against guns and won't issue. Hows that for "equal treatment under the law" for ya.
One three letter word makes a world of difference in the pursuit of freedom. It's such an embarassment to the state where the revolution began against a tyrant, that it also has such tyrranical laws in place. A product of elitists..no doubt.

Check with Jim if you see him and ask if there was a past CLEO in that town or county that wouldn't sign.

You're right. I talked to the folks at Manchester Firing Line, Jim Mcloud's range, and Drew told me that the Litchfield CLEO doesn't like signing off on cans. However it's really easy to have our Sherriff sign for stuff, he'll sign anything. So will the State AG and the head of the state police.

Thats what I thought. I went to a shoot up there a couple of years ago and a local guy mentioned it. Although I thought he mentioned Mgs too, but hey that was two years ago. My memory is very good, but also very short.
Matter of fact Jim was there with a belt fed and several other MGs. He let me blast a belt through it and what a nice gun. I can't remember if it was an MG34 or something of that nature.
Anyway, here in MA, with its discriminatory licensing, we are at the mercy of the chief of police, or the colonel of the state police(whom I've never heard of signing for anyone) to sign for a green card. I consider myself lucky to have a chief that is a pro gun guy and signs. Too bad we can't have cans in this state. It might solve all the noise complaints that the whining public always puts forth when they want to close down a shooting range. They usually forget that the range was there 50 to 100 years before they( the neighbors) were talked into buying a piece of land next to it. It never ceases to amaze me that people would buy a piece of land next an active shooting range and expect silence.
I can't wait to get out. As long as I can own MGs here, I'll stay, until retirement that is, then its adios. I'm leaving the very day I get off the job if I can.
If my license were not renewed, I'm resigning from my job and packing my bags. My life is too short to contend with this state.
I'll go to Kentucky and live off the land if I have to.
Going there anyway, that would just hasten things a bit. Best thing about it is...my wife feels the very same way.

So what have you got so far? Did you get a can for your Uzi?
I'm thinking about having my stepson buy a few of them and keep them in Kentucky then transfer them to me when I'm a resident. This is just in case the gov.org tries to invoke a ban on them.

Yes your laws are quite different in NH. But fear not, the refugees from Massachusetts will ruin it in short order. They already are on many fronts. they want NH freedom with Massachusetts services. I guess money trees grow better in your climate huh?
