This place will never be the same. Yep, Dr. Evil's brother moved here this week and the first order of business was to take him out to meet a couple of the locals and show him our range. We're happy to have him in Las Vegas! Sorry for the bad photos.

I just shot with him 2 weeks ago up in NH. You take good care of him, we do expect him back in good shape some day. Did he happen to bring the Water cooled unit he was messing with?

We had a nice lunch after shooting in the morning and he told me all about the water cooled upper. Too cool!! I've recently thought about what it would take to build an upper like that, and yes, he did pack it up and bring it out here. I haven't seen it yet, but we were shooting with a couple of C2 buddies of mine yesterday, and they have the skills to give it the final tweaking it needs.
I promise to take good care of Brother Evil, but he may like the city and the shooting scene so much he may not want to return. :) One great benefit is I'll get to see the rest of the clan from time to time!

Although I always enjoy your photography skills, I have to wonder... When are you 'gonna shoot that thing? You'll love it! Especially with the mount head turned around.
Oh, and NO one said anything about a water cooled upper, (circulates fresh water too!), for a M16. :halo
V-SMG, my problem has been shooting ranges. The best one ($5 all day) The Ben Avery will not let you set up the tripod and stand up to shoot MGs. I am almost done with the project to put a bipod on the bottom rail and shoot it from the cement benches @ the B.A. Maybe this Tuesday.
...that is an old pic, your advice HAS been taken and the head has been reversed. I am trying to make a roof mount for my Jeep.

Nice mount!!
If you haven't played with the MG42 AA tripod, you should! You can set it up very low with the legs spread wide and sit on a short stool. Mike Duke actually lowers his so he can sit in the back hatch of his Jeep and shoot... Hey it's hot, we're lazy and you don't have to stand up to shoot!
Although there's not much recoil, you may want to consider taking along a couple of ammo cans to hang from the hooks on the tripod legs. It makes for a nice stable platform if you don't have sand bags.
You're 'gonna love it!

I just spoke with him last night... he's still getting acclimated but he'll be fine. You know he purchased a new home? He should be taking possession just after the family reunion.
We got together and did a little shooting last Saturday morning and had lunch afterwards. Glad to have him here. Our matches are the 2nd Sunday of each month, so try to plan accordingly! Hope to see you here!
