Vector got my order the first of December and they told my dealer 2 months.  It's 2 months now and they're telling me that the receivers will be heat treated the first week of February and then ANOTHER 2 MONTHS until they deliver!

Anyway is it possible for me to turn in my Form 4 now since I know what the serial number is?  Or does my dealer have to get it first?

Hey Dustin:

Hang in there and be patient. I had to wait 7 months from the day I called my C3 dealer to order one to the day I received it.

I'll let you know the next time I'm bringing mine to TAG. Bring a couple of boxes of 9mm and I'll let you "burp".

Regards,
A TAG RO ;-)

Took me 10 months to get my two. Ordered in March 2002, from one dealer on a group buy, then to my instate dealer, then to me.
Although I had one to shoot...the wait still sucked, but it is worth it. Price increased 1600 dollars in the time it took to clear paperwork hurdles.
Now I'm getting the other stuff together to store for resale in ten or so years.

MG ownership is definitely a lesson in how slow the wheels of government can turn.

Get all the other accessories in the meantime...it will keep you occupied.

That's very strange. A friend of mine went in on a group buy around August. I think the dealer got it from vector in a couple of months.

The group buy was with an out of state dealer, so I had to go through two form 3 transfers. I submited my form 4 in Sept. and it is now hung up in the legal department while the consider if they want to transfer to a trust or not and if they want to revoke my previously approved form 4 because it trasfered to the same trust. So, it is kinda my fault, but not entirely. When I bought my M16 I had it transfered to a dealer with a range so I could still shoot it in case it got long like this one. I wish I had used the same dealer fo rthe Uzi. Dang!

My friend was in the same situation - group buy through an out of state dealer so two form 3's were required. His form 4 was to an individual so there was no extra hassle related to a trust.

Based on our personal experiences over the last year, turn around has been pretty consistent: about 5-6 weeks on a form 3 and about 4 1/2 months on a form 4 from the time you mail it until it's actually returned to the dealer. For some reason it takes them a full 2 weeks from the time they stamp the form 4 approved until it's in the hands of your dealer. I have no idea why that delay exists but it seems very consistent.

I'm lucky that my CLEO is very good about signing these so that doesn't really add any time to the process for me. That's certainly not true for all areas of the country.

I called Vector yesterday to see what the deal is. They confirmed everything that my dealer told me and that worst case scenario they would be shipping to my dealer the 2nd week of Feb. So hopefully the next Form 3 won't take longer than 3-4 weeks and I can start my form 4 in March and receive in June.

Good luck man. I hope you get the turn around you're expecting. My first title II gun was through a dealer that claimed to get 2 week turn around all the time. It turned out to be 4-5 like everyone else. March to June is also optimistic but it's hard not to be optimistic when you've got such a cool gun on the way!

Hey man, keep a happy thought. Just think of the amount of pride you will be feeling when you pick your new baby up. And think of how jealous we all will be when you write your range report for the first time. Oh, jeeez, I'm starting to feel jealous already...crap!
