Manufacture dates for A or B Receivers

Hey there. I am doing a build on a B receiver, and would like to know about where I can get the date of manufacture for my receiver. It has a four digit serial number (significant digits only), as well as a bayo lug.
Also, on the photos in the reference library, there is a remark about the Sarco receivers I'd like to add to, if y'all could direct me to the responsible party(ies).

Nobody that knows the import dates is around and talking. ATF wont give that info out. The importer is long since gone. Send the info to RoverDave in a PM. Karl.

Hey there. Your comments on the ATF not being forthcoming with import dates makes me wonder if anyone has attempted a FOIA to them on the issue. I suppose if no-one knows the answer, it means no-one has, which means I will.

Hey there. Yeah, its me again. I made reference to a Sarco receiver comment in the reference library. The photo accompanying that specific section of the text shows importer marks that are mis-identified. If you look at the pic, you can see the faintest traces of an "N" preceeding the HMCO SAC CA. That would be the New Helvetia something or other Company, in Sacremento, CA. They would be the importer of the receivers written about; further, they would be the importer of the receiver I purchased this month from my favorite dealer, in Bailey, CO., on which I am doing a build; and most significantly, they would still be in business, and hopefully more cooperative than the ATFE, even with a FOIA. I'll have to check my back issues of SGN to locate what the "M" stands for in that company's name.

RoverDave will get to making changes to that library post this week. As for the FOIA request, that's tax info, it wont get you anywhere. All that info is part of tax records related to import taxes. And they can't give you copies of those records, and since those records weren't computerized back then, they just don't know the answer. Karl.
