RoverDave asked me to post some info on my Norinco for the archives, here is my inital review and findings...
One pic turned out, I'll have to take pics of it in the day light outside tomorrow. Camera sucks indoors :(
What I received:
1 of ea. *NIB*
Norinco Model 320 (Uzi 9mm)
Sling
Loading tool
cleaning rod
bore brush
bore rammer thingie
Norinco oil bottle (small, green)
8oz bottle Norinco weapons oil
25rd IMI magazine, used condition - 50% or worse finish(instead of new 32 rounder x 2)
Instruction Manual
can of T6 Colt gun grease (?)
chinese style dessicant bag
Inital observations:
Like every NIB Norinco 320 it's finish is definately lacking, with nicks and scratches all over the metal. This is at first masked by a hideous wooden butt-hole (thumb-hole) stock. The finish on the wood is perfect, but it's still a butt-hole stock. Overall condition is consistant if not somewhat above par for NIB 320's.
Markings:
Rt. rear receiver-
NORINCO 320
SEMI-AUTO
9X19 PARA
MSA 03xxx
NORINCO CHINA
Rt. front receiver-
A.C.C. INT'L INTRATEC KNOXVILLE, TN
Lt. rear receiver-
*the big Norinco star*
Selector Markings-
F, S
Further Findings:
Bolt operates smoothly (but still a bit strong on tension spring). Selector functions properly and 'crisply'. Trigger pull is consistant, and predictable, as well as 'breaking' clean / crisp. Palm / grip safety is functional, however the butt-hole (thumb-hole) stock would make it more difficult to engage with a smaller hand. Barrel is 'tack' welded into place to prevent it's removal, however the release is still functional. Internals were in 100% condition, and almost everything has a serial number (which all match).
Overall: For the price, it is definately well worth it.
'Oddities', variations from the manual...
Manual states:
Throughout the manual a folding stock is present. NEVER a butt-hole stock.
"It features unique compactness, reliability and superb accuracy that make it an ideal weapon for self-defense and sporting purpose." -page one. :angel3
Page 9, instructions to remove the barrel... of course made impossibhle by the tack welding.
Page 10, instructions on removing the folding stock... no folder is present.
comments:
These varients are due to silly laws that made the Norinco 320 illegal to import in it's original factory condition (ie: removable barrel & folder) after the weapon was manufactured and manuals were printed. The modifications were made to allow importation into the US.
I will be range testing it either this weekend (weather permitting), or for sure next weekend. I'll post the feild testing afterwards. If it's anything like the 2 other Norinco's I've fired, I'm sure I will be pleased.
