Have a Coastal can and shot some Winchster 115gr 9mm to try it out. With every shot - it produced a very heavy white smoke. Is this normal? Shot 200 rnds both single and full and still have the white smoke without any decrease in intensity. Anyone have the same condition with their Coastal can?

They ship with grease in them. It will burn off after a while. It helps the level of suppression to have grease in it. You may want to add some once it burns off of get blown out. If you don't like the smoke don't add grease.

I'll second everything Paul said. Mine stopped smoking -- and got noticably louder -- somewhere between 500 and 1k rounds. It's still quiet enough to shoot comfortably without hearing protection (with subsonic ammo) so I haven't bothered to add hand lotion or any of the other non-smoking wet media.

I guess that does raise the issue as to what is the prefferred brand/type of grease to use in your can. I know that Clyde Wilson of Coastal reccommended Lithium grease with no particular brand......
