Hey All,
I have been lurking here for awhile, and have decided to pick up an SA Uzi for fun! (I have several Class 3's) and tend to enjoy semi now as much as full auto! Here is my question (I don't mean to cause a fight!:shotgun or pee'n match!) I am looking thru the usual sorces for a good condition/used full size Semi Uzi's, I get that the various manufacturers are IMI, Acition Arms, Group Industries, Norinco, and Vector.
All are decent, but is one "MUCH" better then the other?
I am leaning toward Vector or Group Industries..... mostly due to price.... Any thoughts?
Thanks!
Fred
P.S. If any one is selling at the right price consider this a WTB thread and PM me! (Thanks!)

Action Arms imported the IMI Uzi and are the origional Israeli made gun. This is why they command a higher price. Some say they are better. The Vector guns which are still in production are made on Group Industry receivers and various US, and mainly South African parts. If you are looking for a shooter and not interested in "collectors" value get the Vector made gun. I have no experience with the Norincos but from what I read their fit and finish is not on par with Vector or IMI and you will have to add US parts if you want the fugly thumbhole stock removed.

Vector is the only one currently manufacturing them. Importation of the Norincos and IMI's is a thing of the past and Group Industries went out of business years ago (they're the ones that manufactured all the receivers Vector is still using to build new ones). Action arms was just an importer. They're the ones that imported the IMI and Norinco carbines.
There are a lot of opinions about the quality. I think I remember hearing that the number of SA UZIs built by Group Industries themselves was actually pretty small. Realistically you'd want to get a Vector if you just want to shoot it since they're the cheapest ones out there and are still being manufactured. The IMI's you get might be better quality but you'd either be looking at getting a used one or paying through the nose for one that's never been shot. Since you are experienced with NFA items you could get a Norinco relatively cheap and SBR it since then you could put a normal stock and pistol grip on it without the US parts mess. If you don't want to SBR it though, the price of US parts to let you get rid of the thumbhole stock would bring the price up higher than a Vector unless you got a really really good deal on it. The Norincos are actually pretty nice copies of the IMI, but the finish on them is kind of crappy. I've seen some people refinish them to look pretty nice though.
good luck.

But as I understand it, they have plenty of GI receivers.
