Does anyone have an inside track on when the Vector 22 FA conversion kits are going to be ready to ship?

I called them during the summer(June/July) and was put on a list.

E-mailed them last week and the response was "In a few months".

Vector had kits for sale at Knob Creek Oct. 07 for factory subgun and semi auto trunion conversions. I tried to get extra magazines they told me one guy came and bought them all.

Hey Amphibian

Give us a report on the kit!!! Details of the magazine(fit and function), loading tool, and how it shoots in semi, and auto.

Thanks,
Cohiba

P.S. How about some pictures and what brand(IMI,Vector, Group) you're shooting. Maybe ammo report:uzi

There has been a ton of discussion on the Vector kits in the past if you want to do some searching. Here are a few links that might be of interest to you:

Not sure what number I was. I think I ordered these around May or June. Supposedly they built enough to clear the backlog and then some.

I received the call today. I think I was like 10th or 12th on the original list prior to any being made. They said they are being made, but there is a bit of a backlog and they are working through it. Point is, these are becoming available. So much for the days of $800-1000 for a 22 kit.

Absolutely! I applaud Vector for not cranking the price up. :thumbs_up

Great news!

I like mine so I am not in a rush to buy a spare but I think I will be buying an extra while they are available again. Funny how we take things for granted until we can't buy them anymore!

Funny how that works. I called and they said my kit was ready. I should get it in about 5 days. Curious to see if it will run out of the box. At least now I know what to check for. Sometimes I think the .22 kits are more fun than 9mm. I've been shooting mine lately with the 9mm spring with the Winchester Super X's. Runs pretty fast but I can load a mag to 30 rds. and the spring has enough force to strip rounds off and yet the Super X's are hot enough to cycle my gun. Wouldn't be too good w/ a suppressor though. I've noticed these Super X's are really clean bullets. They don't gunk up your fingers like other ammo when you load and the mags ( which is the limitation on my kit) stay cleaner longer before they stop feeding properly. I'm wondering has anybody treid the Aguila Super Maximum .22LR?

I checked today. The lady said they had to build fourteen more before they reached my number. About a month.

Has anyone ever tried CCI Mini-Mag with these?

I have tried all kinds of amm with my 22 kits... Note what works in one gun may NOT work so well in another!!!

Mine seems to like CCI Standard Velocity. It shoots reasonably clean and I seem to get less stove pipes with that the stuff that is hotter. Just the same, that is when the gun is clean... When it is dirty, it needs a hotter load and I have used some Winchester Super Xs with good results.

I use what ever the gun agrees to eat. I have bricks of all sorts of 22 ammo and if one stops working I try another. That's just part of a 22 conversion with the UZI IMHO

For a standard velocity load (suppressed) the Win. Dynapoints are excellent. Might not be as good as CCI standard velocity, but definitely less expensive.

My .22 setup runs nearly flawless with the Winchester Dynapoints. My only trouble is that the deep south (AL & MS) WalMarts have quit stocking them.
