Just bought another UZI. This one is a converted model B. Reg. rec. with blocking bar removed. The restrictor ring is still intact though.

While waiting on my paperwork I was going to send it to Rex at vector and have him cut down the ring, but leave the feed ramp. Is the trunion the same size on the converted guns? Anything else need to be done to have the gun brought up to spec? I just want to be able to drop in parts from all the smg kits that are out their now.

I am also going to have them fit a .22 kit to the gun while it is there. Any other suggestions? Thanks again for all the help.

Best,

Chris

Congrats Chris. Who did the original conversion? Opening up the trunion is a conversion step that some people did and other's did not. I'm sure Vector will do it for you if it wasn't done originally. About the only other difference I can think of is the size of the pin that holds the lower on. Your semi would have originally had the larger pin. You might want to ask Rex if they could sleeve it down to the smaller size so you could use any SMG lower without modification.

Thanks RoverDave!

It is a IMI gun converted by Group industries. Rex is supposed to call back in a couple of days with a quote (like it matters, I'm still sending it to him) and I'll ask him about the lower. i'm just going to tell him I want the smg brought up to spec, so I can drop in 100% SMG parts (I bought 3 parts kits when I got my Vector last month). I don't want the hassle of having to mess with two different sets of parts.

Has anyone had them sleeve the pin holes before?

Again, Thanks!

Best

Also check to make sure you have an SMG spec ejector. Some model B's supposedly came with an ejector that was not as tall as the model A's or SMG one.
Also confirm that your using an SMG spec sear. The SMG spec sear is wider and requires larger sear openings in the bottom of the receiver.
I have all differences listed on my webpage under the FAQs link.
