Hey everyone! Well I think I am going to be picking up a Vector UZI carbine this next month and I need a little information. My overall goal is to SBR it and get a suppressor. In the mean time, what options do I have for a fake can? I don't really care for the long bbl look.

Also, I have read of some problems people have had with the Vector builds. Overall are they good to go? Any issues I should look out for?

Lastly where can I find the original 10" bbl when I go to SBR it?

I think with mags I am just going to order 3-4 from CDNN because of prices. Any other accessories that are a must have?

Thank you ahead of time for the replies! Any comments or insight you have is appreciated!

Welcome aboard. If you do have a problem with a Vector built gun they will fix it. For a semi I would not think that you would have any trouble from any of them but mine is FA so what do I know. As far as magazines go there is bunch of German 32 round mags hitting the market for very cheap. I think there is someone here on UZI Talk selling them for as little as $12.50 each, do a search for magazines. Barrels are around you just need to post a WTB ad on any of the gun boards. Good luck and keep us posted as to what you end up doing.

I just found the mags you are talking about. I think I will pick up 4.

With the barrels I need to find one specifically made for SA, right?

You can take a SMG barrel and have it turned to fi the semi or have someone cut down a 16" barrel for you.

Welcome!!

I've never had 1 single problem with my FA Vector Mini.

Vector may have barrels, or Troy at barrelxchange.

Have fun!!!!!

Gunut, welcome to the wonderful world of UZI land.

The Vector is a good, solid gun. Granted, there have been problem exceptions but they are just that - exceptions, and Vector's CS is top notch should happen to run into a problem.

I got my 10.5" barrel from Vector. I'm sure they still have them just give them a call.

A sight tool would probably be something you might also want to consider. It can also be ordered from Vector for about eight to ten dollars. It just makes the sighting in process a bit less of a hassle. Enjoy. :patriot

I have a couple Vector Uzis, no problem ever with either. Also, if you want an SBR; why not just order it direct from Vector. You wont waste money on a fake can, barrel, or engraving that way. You could spend the $200 tax on just those items, just a thought.

Well...I am saving up for a .45 and 9mm can so the SBR won't be an option until this summer.

I don't wanna wait that long!! lol

Any info on where I can pick up a fake can? Oh and do they come with dummy barrels or is that a separate purchase?

One of the members here, JWH 223, makes them, I got one of his two stage fake cans and it looks great on a S/A even with the stupid 16" barrel...... It may even look cooler then the SMG barrel! Also, Gun Parts Corp has the 10.5 barrel for around $50.00 if you do decide to do the SBR thing yourself, and the barrel is turned down for the semi restictor ring. Just don't buy it, and have it with your semi, as ATF may considers it a Illegal SBR.

Here is a link for the fake can:

P.S. he is a nice guy to deal with!

So I should not buy the bbl until the gun is registered as a SBR?

Thanks for the link!

Oh and what do you have to do to turn down the barrel? Is this something I could do? What is involved?

If you need a gunsmith to do it, what is the normal cost?

You should not have the short barrel until you have your approved paperwork in hand for the sbr. I believe ATF considers this intent to construct/build contraband/machinegun.

You would need to turn it down with a lathe.Look in the library,it shows what the differences are between the semi/smg barrels.

I found some case law where people were arrested for intent. I am just gunna wait.
