View Full Version : Uzi Suppressors
Gentlemen:
I am currently in the market for a suppressor for my FA Uzi. I realize there are suppressors especially make to screw onto the Uzi’s barrel retaining threads, however, in an effort to “kill two birds with one stone” I decided to not purchased one of those but rather purchase another barrel and have the ends threaded to match the same suppressor I plan to use on my 9mm Sig P226. This way the government only gets $200 as opposed to $400 out of me for the bloody tax stamp. My question concerns itself with the “quality” of suppressor. I realize that a suppressor for a FA is different than one for a SA pistol. I’m wondering if any of you folks a lot more experienced than I can recommend a suppressor (by manufacturer and model) that will be fine for sustained FA action as well as use on a SA pistol. The last thing I want to do is purchase a pistol suppressor then use it on the Uzi in FA mode and have problems. Needless to say I would much rather spend more for a top-of-the-line suppressor for both firearms than a cheaper one for each. Thanks in advance for your help and good recommendations.

Hell thats easy. SWR Trident! Removable mounts, works great on a smg and fantastic on a pistol. Best CS in the biz. Honestly it is my favorite centerfire suppressor.

x2, i like my trident 9. However, i ponied up and bought a gemtech mossad II just for my uzi. I like to have one suppressor for one gun---yeah, it costs a bit more but that is just me.

On an UZI I like the weight balance of the type you describe. Vector makes a solid unit.
The AAC Evolution 9 can be ordered with a 3-lug mount or fixed barrel mount and a stainless steel blast baffle rather than aluminum the pistol only units get. Then you can use the gun boostered on pistol, fixed thread or 3 lug mounts.
After some research, i have decided that the Gemtech Mossad II is the way to go. It fits right over the barrel and screws into place. Easy. Quiet and dependable.

My Mossad works great and just handling it, it feels like a quality piece. You can get adaptors from TROS to put it on about anything. Having said that, the size and volume requirements DO vary some between a subgun and a pistol. But if you can put up with the extra length, it would be workable. I am currently considering a TROS adaptor to use the Mossad on a 9mm AR carbine. Anybody try that?

I had M60Joe Weld an Uzi thread adapter on a Colt DOE barrel so I could use my Mossad on it. It works great and is pretty quiet.

it will not function on a locked breech pistol.
As Dave mentioned the Evo 9 is a great can with about the same options as the SWR Trident. However my personal experiance has found AAC lacking in the CS dept.

Here's a video of a buddy of mine shooting my stainless CZ-75 with a SWR Trident 9 on it.

And here's the same guy with my full size UZI B G Bolt gun and the Massoud can on it.

I'd say stick with the seperate cans for the pistol & carbine.
good vid. I am going to order the Mossad II as soon as my mini Uzi comes in. Hey, whats the wait time typically when ordering a can? (Federal wait time etc,....)

It took a couple of months for my Mossad to come in to my dealer from Gemtech. Once I sent my F4 off it took about six weeks until it came back approved to my dealer.
Does the Mossad model fit over a 16' barrel or only the 10.5'?
