I just got my 22 kit for my full auto, full size UZI. It runs like a charm for one magazine. The extractor brakes after those 28 rounds. It happened now twice. I am using the vector recommended Winchester ammo. Anybody has the same experience or knows how to rectify this?

Check if the extractor lines up properly with the slots in the side of the barrel. If the extractor strikes the barrel instead of running in the slot, it could break.

RD is most likely on the right track. My "new production" .22 conversion came with an extra instruction sheet explaining how to align the barrel slot with the extractor.

Yup, that did it. Just needed to line-up the barrel with the extractor. Now it runs like a charm.

So what's the difference between the "new" production kits and the "old" models?
If any..Just curious..
Thanks..

I just go off the phone with Rex(4:45 p.m. Central Time). Yesterday, we had a shoot(SMG-Houston to kick off the year) and I took the Vector kit.
I was using CCI Mini Mags and after the 4th magazine I had the extractor pop off and jam the gun. Put it in(extractor) and about the 2nd magazine-pop, it came off.....3rd time I put the 9mm bolt in.
**Bottom line: 1. Make sure(2-3 bullets) the bullets seat flush with
the barrel before you shoot it. If a bullet
sticks out JUST A LITTLE it will pop the
extractor.
2. Rex said it was okay to "squeeze" the extractor so it
would keep a tight fit on the bolt.
3. He suggested I try Winchester Super X(no lead head)
but heck- I can't seem to find them(as of yet) here in
Houston.
4. $10.00 for a new extractor
5. MORE magazines when they are available.

Your barrel chamber needs to be generous enough that a .22 cartridge just drops in your barrel and falls out when you turn the barrel over. Also, you need lots of mags because it's dirty mags that will start to cause jams in a gun that otherwise runs. I get maybe 4-5 cycles max out of a mag before I have to clean it. You can grind down the plastic on the base of the mag so the base plates just slides off real easy to effect easier cleaning of these .22 mags. My gun seems to run more reliably with the 9mm recoil spring in it instead of the .22 recoil spring that comes with the kit. The bolt needs to slide freely with no resistance in the receiver as well for reliability.
Winchester Super X 40gr solids is what these kits were designed and tuned to shoot.
I dicked around with other ammo, from bulkpack to expensive, and this ammo is the only one besides CCI mini mags (IMO Super X is better though) that will work these kits at close to 100% for about 500rds (they get dirty relatively quick). Some have said that the Aguila Super Maximums will work good too, but I haven't tried them yet because I love the Super X so much for its cleanliness (bullets are very wax and gunk free) and reliability. The Winchester is available @ http://www.midwayusa.com/ebrowse.exe/browse?CurrentSort=manufacturer_a&CurrentCountRet=20&CurrentManufacture=AnyCompany&CategoryString=653***7547***&CategoryID=10017&BrandID=&page=13&KeyWord=&TabID=3&company_select=AnyCompany&search_keywords2=&sort1=manufacturer_a&PageSelect=13&RecordsReturned=20&PageSelect2=13&RecordsReturned2=20&NextButton.x=8&NextButton.y=10. I think Bass Pro Shops out in Katy has it too.
I love my FA FS with the .22 kits so much I never hardly shoot anything else out of it. I've probably shot 10,000 of .22 and only 2-3 hundred 9mm through it since I bought it in June.
have older kits, they run fine with thunderbolt
you lube the mag and it will run most anything

I just ried the Remington 550 rd value pack from WalMart. It runs without problems.

You guys are lucky. My gun will run ok on the crapola ammo, but not anything close to a 100%.
For use with a suppressor, I highly recommend the Dynapoint.

+1, my favorite ammo for 22LR suppressed.
