Dug this up, thought you guys might like to read it. I don't agree with some of the things they say about most 9mm semi auto's being referred to as Uzi's, but it's got some interesting info, none-the-less.

Here's a look at the Uzi from a German perspective. The page was all in German, so I appologize for the weak translation, but I used a weak translating program. Some German words still remain...

Much of the information that floated around news sources at the time of Uzl Gal's death was true, but they contained many inaccuracies. For example, the black and white photo in your first link isn't even Uzi Gal. It's a photo of Israel Blashnikov - designer of the Galil rifle. Some news agency grabbed the wrong photo out of an archive and then news sources all over the world copied it.

You can check out UZI history in the library here. (http://files.uzitalk.com/reference/pages/history.htm) You can also check out a brief biography of Uzi Gal in the library here. (http://files.uzitalk.com/reference/pages/uzielgal.htm) That biography is correct. It was provided to me directly from Uzi's son, Iddo Gal. Iddo hopes to write a book about his father but hasn't really started yet. Hopefully we'll all be treated to an interesting biography of Uzi Gal in the future. The photograph of Uzi holding the target in the second link I provided was taken at an annual Secret Service gathering. Uzi knew many people at the USSS because of the UZI's they used to use. On more than one occasion he was called in to resolve some technical problems.

Here's another interesting little tidbit about Uzi Gal. On at least three different occasions at different exibitions, Uzi played along to the Israeli National Anthiem on an UZI smg. Now that's trigger control!

You know, I got to thinking, and I thought it would be a good idea to put some good information together into a library of sorts on the board here.

I'll stop going out to the internet trying to pull up random information, as you obviously know it all. Please, dear god, forgive me that I do not spend the time to match up the information I pull from the internet on a whim, with that of the information that's already in the library, that I've already read. Thanks btw for pointing out the library, as I would have never known it was there if it hadn't been pointed out to me so many times in this post.

I've learned my lesson.
