Well just recieved my vector uzi semi carbine.. My question: Is the selector change lever button supposed to be loose? And also the selector switch when all the way to safe goes a little past which adds an extra click, any way to fix this? I know this is nit pickin but I can't help myself, I shoot my firearms usually at least once a week and can't stand to this day when I get a new scratch or a loose component.
Any help appreciated
Thanks
PS: It shoots great

Hey Fusion,
I have seen them a bit on the loose side before.
Can you look a bit closer?
The plastic (or sometimes metal) selector knob itself is slid onto a metal post which is the actual selector.
What is loose? The selector knob on the metal post, or the metal post itself?
The lower trigger group used to be a full auto trigger group so it had one more position forward it would move. To make these into semi auto trigger groups the would weld a stop inside the unit to prevent the selector from going into the full auto position. It sounds like they welded the stop just a bit too far forward.
It won't hurt a thing, but if it bothers you too much, maybe you can take the lower off and carefully put just a dab of JB weld in there to keep it from overtravelling.
Good luck!!

The selector knob is the loose part and the overtravel is to the rear not the forward position. loose part is number 9 here http://www.e-gunparts.com/productschem.asp?chrMasterModel=1000zUZI%20MODEL%2 0A%20CARBINE part number 8 is where the overtravel is towards the stock..
Thanks

The selector knob itself may be a bit loose since it simply slides onto the selector post during assembly. If you took the assembly apart, I'm sure you could be creative and find a way to tighten it up. I think it's normal though.
Sorry about misunderstanding you on the overtravel. You did specify the problem toward the safe mode which is toward the rear. I didn't read slow enough.
I would have to check on a few of my semi autos to see if they do the same thing. If you remove the pin that holds the lower onto the receiver, you will be able to remove it and see how the whole mechanism works.
Maybe you'll be able to see what's going on.
