Greetings,
I am a longtime fan of the UZI having purchased my first back in 1983/84 timeframe. I paid $600 IIRC. It was a semi carbine that I toted in my patrol car on occasion. I loved that gun but alas I am afflicted with Gottatrade disease. It went down the river in 85/86.
I have returned to the fold. Been looking at several UZI carbines that made local appearances in the last couple of years. Prices seemed out of sight. Its banned importation status really jacked up the cost. I waited as there was others guns that I wanted more for less money. As luck would have it I found a UZI model B Semi carbine in 9mm with the IMI .45ACP adapter kit. 3, 25 round, 2, 32 round 9mm mags and a 16 round .45 mag. Paid $1100 out the door. It pays to have a gun dealer that looks out for you.
Wanted to introduce myself to the forum to share the "UZI Spirit". Some may know me from other forums. I love to play gun games and am registered all over. Beretta Forum, GLOCK Talk, SIG Forum and the Smith-Wesson forum get a lot of my time. I plan to add to that here.
All pointers to all things UZI greatfully received. Next on the list...trying to save money fast enough to purchase a Class 3 UZI as the prices rise. I fear that I am in a losing battle. :(
Till the next time...
Be Happy :)

It's good to have you here. I purchased my first UZI in the same time period (early 80s) as you. Are you a sworn officer currently?

Yes I am...The agency I work for however has some of the most restrictive firearms policies in the entire US. My UZI will be for fun and the bedroom closet for now.

FotoTomas, I'd like to also welcome you to UZI Talk. Assuming the Model B you bought is in good condition, you got a very good deal.
As I'm sure you know, the price on full auto UZIs jumped up dramatically this year due to Vector running out. Some of the members here are quick to point out the a C3 gun is a good investment (certainly better than a car) and may be worth floating a loan for. Something to think about.
Since one of your hobbies is photography, can we assume that you'll be sending us some great UZI photos???

I bought my first Uzi in 1981 and had it converted to FA. I paid $600 for the Model A and $200 for the tax stamp. Most likely I could get 5 times that if I were to sell it.
However, I will have to get real hungry before that happens!
Welcome to the board.

That's the plan. Picked it up on Monday and am currently working 12 hour shifts. Plan to do a tabletop shot of it tonight if I can pull some of the goodies together. Am planning to hit the outdoor range on Thursday afternoon as well as using it in the carbine classification in my clubs weekly IPSC fun match. Hope to have bunch of photos.
Here is an example of my plan...just swap out the M9 for a Model B...

I am now on the lookout for the accessories. The dummy barrel was missing as well as the original tan colored sling. Some mag pouches are in order and of course you can never have enough magazines.
The magazine clip spring I picked up a year ago "just in case" is in a box somewhere that needs to be found. I have a pair of 32 rounders now just whining to "get it on"! of course they want photos of themselves. :D

Great! We love photos. And I'm always happy to move great photos into the library if you allow me to.
If you haven't already, check out the parts links (http://files.uzitalk.com/reference/pages/partslinks.htm) page in the library for suppliers. You should be able to find everything you need. Or just ask questions. Lots of knowledgeable people around here willing to share their opinions.

Welcome FT!
Another C3 option that is slightly less costly is buying a good registered bolt for the gun you've already got. Your options are more restricted than with the registered receiver route though.
If you haven't poked around in the reference section, let me recommend it highly. Rover Dave did a great job of compiling it! The link is at the top of this page.

Looks like we found the new official UZITalk photographer. That is a nice shot. I'm looking forward to what you do with the Uzi. Thanks for sharing.

A+ for effective cropping of a semi UZI barrel.
