OK guys-have planned a 3 gun nfa shoot at Ant Hill range the last weekend in March. Hopefully those of you who can not make it to UT5 will come down here to meet and greet and have a great time. The article in SAR(Feb) issue about the Oct. shoot should give you good info on the range, etc. The match will be 3 gun w/2 categories-category one will be all nfa-subguns in lieu of pistols, f/a .223 or .308 for rifle and sbs--if you do not have f/a rifle and sbs, they will be available at a small rental fee for the match. You can also shoot the 3 gun w/subgun for pistol and std rifle/shotgun for the other stages. There will also be a .22f/a stage as a separate event. As before, if you want to shoot while waiting for the match there will be 3 other ranges open. Ant Hill will be holding a standard 3 gun match on Sunday that you can shoot in if you want(will try to get the entry fee waived or discounted if you are registered for the nfa match.
Registration for the match, food for Sat. and general shooting will be $35.00 for Friday/sat/sunday. The match will be on Saturday. Rentals for the match will be $10.00/gun, you supply ammo(factory) There will be 9mm subguns, .45acp(stemple) .223(ac556, vector53, Lightning Link shorty bushmaster .223) rifles and a tromix 8"sbs 12 ga available for the match(they will have to be shared for the match if you do not have your own nfa. I will need to have preregistration and match deposits by March 15,08 to gain a better control on shooters, food, etc.
Group rates for hotel, etc will be arranged as before. E-mail me or call(910-431-2697) for specific questions and I will respond as soon as possible-Looking forward to seeing you guys, Jake-I guess I'll see you in Texas though you are more than welcome to come here for a tune-up.
If you have problems with 5320's figure come on down and rent the weapons, shoot and have a great time-check www.anthillrange.com for address info and further updates as they are posted
For some of you guys-remember it is the LAST Week-end in March!!-Beemer:biker :biker

This is a great range and fantastic host folks! When's the last time you went to a range that had running water in the loo?
George, I'll have to check the schedule. You're a dog about letting me shoot that Saiga of yours. I have got one now and am looking at getting it converted. Let me know if you want in on the group buy I'm organizing for parts on Saiga-12.com.

Will there be a stand alone subgun match as a side match? Could you explain the new match with rifle,SMG,Shotgun a little better? How much ammo will I need for the match?
I am planning on going with all my toys, so I'll be prepared for a few days of shooting. I'll bring my new HK21 too for a little beltfed fun.

The match was originally designed as a 3 gun match meaning that there would be a combination of pistol, rifle and shotgun.(std Ipscc)-figure that one stage would be subgun(in lieu of pistol), one stage combo of subgun and rifle(f/a rifle.223 or .308) or std rifle/sbr in centerfire(.223/308) or pistol carbine, another stage with rifle and shotgun, another stage w/all 3 weapons and then a shotgun only jungle/skeet walk. There will be a separate side match for .22f/a. Can set up to have a separate side match of subgun using .22 sidematch target stage and subgun stage of the 3 gun match. Round count has not been determined yet, but the one in Oct. was about 100+rds/stage. I'd say bring lots of ammo-it's a machinegun match, you will be shooting the match(matches) and also having open shooting on the other ranges when not in the match.-Beemer:biker

Just had confirmation with ATF section chief-there should be no problem with 5320.2's. Agents had been using the nc requirements for nfa possession in nc and consequently disapproving requests depending on the examiner and their familiarity/unfamiliarity with the law. Any nfa holder should be approved for 5320's to come into the state for a shoot. Beemer:biker

You should change the name of your shoot to "North Carolina WMD Shoot" :D
By the way, if all goes well, I should bring this little baby to the shoot:

Why did you paint your mags YELLOW.......???
.Umm, so you can easily locate and identify them?
That's why most folks mark their mags... They all look alike huh? I've got my first name and an assigned number on mine. I had a guy inadvertently try to take one of my Sterling mags a couple of months ago. As you know, they all look identical but mine are marked on the base plate as indicated above. I stupidly left one behind at a stage I shot in AZ and a nice person came over to our next stage asking for Tom. Yep, he had my name and my magazine. The inexpensive Dynamo label maker has paid for itself many times over. I remember when Kyle lost one of his 32 round Uzi mags during the match at U.T. 2 back when they were selling for well over thirty bucks each... no identifying marks on them.
I'm up to seven Saiga mags now and still buying, but they retail at $50.00 each and a good deal is a little under $40.00 each when you can find it. That's spendy for a plastic ten round magazine! You can bet your ass I don't want to accidentally lose one of my mags to someone else! By the looks of BeachinBeemer's mags, it may have happened to him already. I'll bet he doesn't lose any more!
Just my uneducated guess about the yellow paint. How do you mark your mags?

Umm, so you can easily locate and identify them? ......
With ALL that YELLOW..... You will be able to find them floating in the ocean from 5000 feet....... :)
Yeah, I agree with marking you mags....... But it kind of looks like the spray paint can "exploded"......... :)

It was either pink nail polish or the yellow-easy to spot in a match, easier to see on the ground, the pink might have been politically correct but I didn't feel it matched the image of the saiga. Using a dremel, etc is great if you can get close to the mag to check-hey, whatcha doing looking so close at my mags?!!lol-this way if they get misplaced it's easier to spot-maybe paint and a dremel tool.-Beemer
