I FINALLY got to the range to test my .45 Greasegun lower conversion (IMI reg. receiver, Vector GG lower & .45 barrel, BarrelXchange .45 bolt).

I had previously had problems, which were 1) mags falling out of the gun during firing, and 2) failures to fire (too light a dent on the primers).

I fixed problem 1 by re-contouring the angle on the mag catch for a positive engagement.

I finally fixed problem 2, which I finally diagnosed as a case-binding issue (the case would temporarily bind upon entry of the cartridge into the barrel, robbing energy from the bolt, causing too light a primer hit) by slightly radiusing & polishing the lower edge of the chamber entrance as well as polishing the inside of the entire chamber for a slightly looser fit. I also polished & properly tensioned the extractor, which was a little stiffer than necessary.

I say I fixed the problems because the gun runs great now! Not one hiccup in semi or auto. Very satisfying.
