View Full Version : Carpool to Knob Creek from SW PA/MD?

Several of us are thinking of carpooling to Knob Creek from SW PA/MD. If we get enough people, the driving wouldn't be too bad. We may be able to get a group rate on a hotel as well.

I'm guessing a vehicle, non-CDL, but large enough for everyone, plus any toys we may pick up.

It's just an idea right now, but post here if interested.

Even if not a carpool- we could meet up and "Convoy" down, and maybe get a group rate...

Just an idea- BRUCE

Think you guys can swing by Gainesville, FL and pick me up. I figure it should only add about 22 hours to the trip. I would be grateful. :)

I'm also thinking convoy maybe 2 or 3 SUV type vehicles, it's takes about 9 hours from my house Patriot when I've driven to it. We don't want to be stuck in 1 vehicle, and what if it breaks down? Anybody taking any iron with them to shoot? As for hotel space if you don't have it booked now, then expect to be 20 miles north in the Louisville area. People book for the next year before they leave from the shoot. So far it's 5 as Karen says she would like to go. investorsc maybe you, her, getnany, and anyone else from the NW (Noah?)can pool to the departure point. Patriot what do you think about rallying at the Target parking lot off 81 by Hagerstown. My son is the manager and he can have security keep and eye on the vehicles we leave. It's an easy ride, 70 to 68 to 79 on to 64 and straight in. This is going to be a blast. Sorry Dave32 your not a logistically viable opportunity in short "Your Screwed". The NW folks can meet up with us in Handcock(If JJ lived in MD it would be here) off 70W.

It will be well worth the trip to KCR. Lucky me, I only live 1 hour away. :banana

. Sorry Dave32 your not a logistically viable opportunity in short "Your Screwed".

I knew I was out of luck, but you can't blame me for trying. I was looking at the map and may make the jaunt on the way to WI for a business trip. Normally I would fly, but it might be fun to try and meet up with a few people.

It is very cool to see you guys and gals organizing a trip for a "local" area. Have fun, I'm sure you guys and gals can come up with a good road trip plan.

I wanna go! :)

I'm in West Virginia. Down 79 and straight across 64 to the Creek.

I have a Class A CDL, so let's rent a Freightliner Century and a 53' trailer!

I'm in western PA about 20 mins from the Ohio Line. I know of one person coming with me. If I bring shooting toys, I'll bring an SUV instead of an F150 extended cab so I will have room for 2 more people. Carpooling or doing the convoy thing is a great idea so count me in.

Since this is my first year, I definitely don't have hotel accommodations so any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Go to Knob Creeks web sight and check out the hotels in Brooks, it's a couple of miles from Shepardsville but you can usually find a hotel there. Figure on at least $100 per night. OR join us crazies at the KCR campground

So far it looks like we have this thing started up pretty good. The convoy idea sounds good too.

Who's camping?
Who needs a hotel?
What about calling around and getting several of us in one hotel. That would simplify the logistics considerably.

What vehicles to bring?
I have a 4x4 extended cab Silverado, and with 1 or 2 co-drivers, it won't be too bad. ~17MPG, but SAFE.

Oh, and I want a hotel. I did enough sleeping in tents in the Army.

Hmmmm.. my idea of camping is a hotel room at the Holiday Inn :) I think I'll pass on the tent sleeping and go for the hotel. A bar at the hotel would be nice too. I'd like to do the driving on Thursday and come home Sunday.

Did I mention I also have access to 4 tow trucks, 1 flat bed and a huge box truck. The tow trucks won't do us any good but I guess I could toss all of you in the back of the box truck. MPG on the box truck is about 4 MPG tho :)

I have been there.

I thought the Creek was about buying some firearms related goodies. What is this about a casino?:eek

Hey, people. PM me if you want this to happen. Karen hasn't gotten back to me about hotel arrangements, and if we want this to happen, I guess I'll have to step up and coordinate the whole thing. If you want to carpool from PA to KCR leaving Thursday AM, play until we leave Sun AM to return, PM ME with your location and tell me you're definitely going, also say if you want to bring your vehicle or co-drive with someone else within the next 7 days, and I'll find a hotel that can take all of us and figure out a place for everyone to meet up. It's close to a 10 hour drive from here in Greencastle. I need a minimum of 2 people or I DON'T GO, and I'd LOVE to go. If you don't step up now it won't happen.
